S obzirom da smo većinu izvora financijskih sredstava iz Hrvatske potrošili za gradnju i opremanje restorana, kod gradnje doma morali smo se okrenuti sredstvima iz EU fondova. Pritom je trebalo dosta toga unaprijed financirati vlastitim sredstvima Centra (oko 4,5 milijuna kuna) pri čemu smo kod donošenja važnih odluka imali veliku potporu Upravnog vijeća Centra i Sveučilišta u Zagrebu, a kasnije, u fazi pripreme i prijave, potporu Ministarstva regionalnog razvoja i fondova Europske unije i Središnjeg agencije za financiranje i ugovaranje programa i projekata EU te Ministarstva znanosti i obrazovanja. Uslijedile su brojne aktivnosti bez kojih se projekt izgradnje doma ne bi mogao ostvariti:

Nakon što je donijeta odluka o odobrenju EU sredstava u iznosu od 141.590.368,42 kn donijeta je i odluka o odabiru najpovoljnijeg ponuditelja za građevinsko-obrtničke radove te uslijedilo potpisivanje ugovora za dodjelu sredstava i ugovora za građevinsko-obrtničke radove.

During the construction and equipping of the new restaurant, we started the necessary activities to construct a new student dormitory. Since the majority of the funds from Croatia were spent on restaurant construction, we had to turn to EU funds for the dormitory. However, it was necessary to first finance a large portion of the project using the Centre’s own resources (about HRK 4.5 million). Support from this came from the Centre’s Management Board and the University of Zagreb, and later (during the preparation and registration phase) from the Ministry of Regional Development, various EU funds, the Central Finance and Contracting Agency for EU programmes and projects, and the Ministry of Science and Education.

Next came numerous activities without which the dormitory construction project could not have been realised:

The preliminary project and the feasibility study were prepared, and we applied for the Ministry of Science and Education project list.

The completed feasibility study and the main project were evaluated by Jaspers - EU consultants.

The implementation project and budgeting were drafted and we applied for the project proposal “Modernization, Upgrading and Expansion of Student Accommodation Infrastructure for Disadvantaged Students”.

Parallel to our application, we announced the Tender for construction works, so that we would not lose any time on this later.

After the decision was made on being granted EU funds in the amount of HRK 141,590,368.42, we selected the most successful bidder for construction works, followed by the signing of the contract for allocation of funds and contracts for construction works.

Tehnički pregled objekta obavljen je 15. i 16.11.2017. godine.

External parking lots encircle the outer contour of the entire complex, while the approach to the rather large garage is set through the ramp-barred driveway running along the southern edge of the new student dormitory.

Uz postojeći studentski dom sa zapadne strane, novi studentski dom zavija prema istoku formirajući blok. Zgrada ima podzemnu garažu, 5 nadzemnih etaža te prizemlje koje je planirano za većinu javnih prostora i upravu. S druge strane, zajednički prostori na gornjim katovima (dnevni boravci, kuhinje, učionice i krovne terase) su povezani hodnicima u kojima se odvija interakcija studenata. Terase se nalaze naizmjenice unutar same zgrade. Otvorene terase upotpunjuju kat kao proširenje unutarnje komunikacije i zajedničkih prostora te je time omogućena interakcija između katova. The building has an underground garage, five above-ground floors and a ground floor planned for most public and administration areas. Common areas on the upper floors (living rooms, kitchens, study rooms and roof terraces) are connected by corridors where students interact. The terraces are located within the building and placed in alternated fashion. Open terraces complete the floor unit as an extension of internal communication and common spaces, thus enabling interaction between floors.

The heat pumps of restaurant and the new student dormitory are all connected with the gas engine room of existing student dormitory. Thus, its possible to use the excess energy from renewable energy sources instead of energy produced in conventional ways (gas).

PODZEMNA GARAŽA Underground garage Naknadno prenapeta stropna ploča garaže omogućila je koncepciju 16 metarskog raspona stupova u kojoj su izbjegnuti stupovi u zoni skretanja sa staze na parkirno mjesto. Opisano rješenje prati trendove najsuvremenijih koncepcija parkirnih garaža. The post-tension garage ceiling slab allowed the concept of a 16 metars span range for the pillars, allowing us to forego the pillars in the turning zone from the path to the parking place. The described solution follows state-of-the-art concepts of parking garages.
