Chinese Firm Begins Construction at Boeng Kak (01/10/2015) Eight years after CPP Senator Lao Meng Khin signed off on a 99-year lease of Boeng Kak lake in one of the most controversial real estate deals in Phnom Penh’s recent history, a Chinese firm has begun construction on the first major development project on the filled-in lake. Huawei opens Latin American distribution center in Panama (02/10/2015) The Chinese telecommunications giant, Huawei Technologies, on Thursday opened a new distribution center for its Latin American operations in Colon free trade zone in northern Panama.

Japan's Mitsui to buy stake in Chilean salmon firm for $101 million (02/10/2015) Japanese trading firm Mitsui & Co Ltd said on Friday it will buy a 23.4 per cent stake in the world's 9th-biggest salmon farming company from Chile's Multiexport Foods SA for $101 million amid growing demand worldwide for fishery products.

Vietnam-Mexico commercial exchanges soar (02/10/2015) The two-way trade turnover between Vietnam and Mexico reached US$1.32 billion in the first eight months of the year, a 51% rise over US$872.6 million from the same period last year, according to the Trade Office of the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico. Singapore, Malaysia start market sensing exercise for high-speed rail project (07/10/2015) A request for information (RFI) for the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur high-speed rail (HSR) was issued by the governments of both countries on Wednesday (Oct 7) - marking a new milestone for the joint project.

Vietnam wins new contract to sell rice to Indonesia (08/10/2015) The country has won a contract to sell 1 million tonnes of rice to Indonesia after shipping 450,000 tonnes to the Philippines earlier, according to the Saigon Times Online. RoK-based fiber weaving plant inaugurated in Tay Ninh (09/10/2015) ILSHIN Vietnam Limited Company, under the Republic of Korea (RoK)’s ILSHIN Company, held a ceremony to inaugurate its fiber weaving plant at the Phuoc Dong-Boi Loi industrial park in the Central Highlands province of Tay Ninh on October 8.

Australian senate passes China-Australia FTA legislations (09/11/2015) The Australian Senate on Monday passes legislations surrounding the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA), clearing the final hurdle to enact the agreement. Argentina, China nuclear plant agreements bear 'historic importance' (16/11/2015) Agreements between Argentina and China on the construction of two nuclear power stations in the South American country have "historic importance," according to Argentinean government on Sunday.

Philippines, Vietnam sign strategic partnership pact (18/11/2015) THE Philippines and Vietnam on Tuesday signed a joint strategic partnership agreement at the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting that will boost their cooperation in several areas, including defense and maritime security, the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
