OBSERVER STAFF PHOENIX -- Gov. Doug Ducey vetoed a bill last week that would have ended a legal mandate for county attorneys to provide help with adoptions -- a bill widely seen as legalizing Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery's recent declaration that he won't help same-sex couples adopt. Ducey said he wants more

Of course, in 1967, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that it was not up to the states to discriminate against interracial marriage and in 1878 that it was not up to states to allow polygamous marriages. Yeah . . . up to the states. Clinton's husband signed into law the egregious Defense of Marriage Act prohibiting federal recognition of same-sex marriage. The Supreme Court dumped parts of that law in 2013.

Family Research Council funds new campaign with same old excuses OBSERVER STAFF Giving gays and lesbians any freedom will end freedom. That seems to be the underlying theme of a new advertising campaign from the antigay Family Research Council. "Wedding photographers, florists, bakers and caterers are increasingly being punished by the government," states Tony Perkins, head of the council.
