While Syrah and Shiraz are the same grape, they can be manipulated to produce different wine varietals. A winemaker might bottle a “Shiraz” to indicate a rich, lush, riper, more fruit-forward wine in the Australian spirit, or they might call it “Syrah” to indicate a French influence, with more fruit restraint. Napatree Hike: Oystercatcher Viewing
Give Mom the appreciation she deserves with a visit to Weekapaug Inn. Here she’ll be enchanted by the scenery and cuisine as she enjoys selections from the specially created three-course holiday menu. Afterward, relax in an Adirondack chair on the Lawn and take in the stunning view as the sun sets over the Pond.
Napatree Point, a mile-long ribbon of sand and dunes, runs west from Watch Hill toward Fisher’s Island. At the turn of the century the spit of land was home to Fort Mansfield and its installation of large naval guns. Today Napatree is a conservation area and a wonderful place to see shore birds, including American oystercatchers. Join us on a three-hour tour of this remarkable site.

Follow along as the Weekapaug Inn Naturalist leads you through Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge and helps identify some of the feathered creatures that call Rhode Island home. The stunning reserve features well maintained trails that meander through native grasslands, upland forest and lead to a large coastal pond. Viewing platforms afford fine views of waterfowl and sweeping vistas of the beach and marshes.
Did You Know? Situated on the beautiful Quonochontaug Pond, Weekpaug Inn offers guests a myriad of ways to explore the water at our Boathouse. Trustom Pond Bird Walk
Follow along as the Weekapaug Inn Naturalist leads you through Trustom Pond National Wildlife Refuge and helps identify some of the feathered creatures that call Rhode Island home. The stunning property features well-maintained trails that meander through native grasslands, upland forest and lead to a large coastal pond. Viewing platforms afford fine views of waterfowl and sweeping vistas of the beach and marshes.
Did You Know? A relic of the original hotel, Weekapaug Inn’s fire pit was lovingly restored to re-create memories of a bygone era. The pit was traditionally used to cook clams and lobsters for the Inn’s Thursday Night Clambakes. We’ve continued that tradition and added an evening treat for guests, s’mores served nightly after dinner. Surrounded by rocking chairs, the fire pit is the perfect place to gather with a cocktail while enjoying the peaceful quiet of Weekapaug.
