Lilly Pulitzer + Watch Hill Lilly Pulitzer is making a splash in Watch Hill this summer.

The iconic American resort wear brand is collaborating with Ocean House and Watch Hill Inn to create a custom suite, amenities and a retail location.

Just in time for beach season, we’re excited to unveil Lilly Pulitzer-branded cabanas. The beachfront cabanas will feature Lilly Pulitzer custom accent pillows and towels in its popular summer 2017 prints.

At Watch Hill Inn, the Lilly Pulitzer Suite–previously known as the Nash Suite–will be fully outfitted in Lilly Pulitzer resort décor, including hand-painted canvases, shell accent mirrors, custom printed bedding, pillows, curtains and more. Born and raised in Germany, Corinne Finn-Heyl learned the art of hospitality at a young age. Her childhood home was the unofficial heart of the community—a welcoming environment where people would gather to meet, tell stories and share meals.

“My grandfather was the mayor of the town; my other grandfather was the architect, and my father was the doctor. There were always people in our home,” she recalled. “My grandmother would cook and prepare cakes, coffee and tea for everyone to enjoy.”

Despite growing up in such a guest-centric environment, it wasn’t until years later, while studying at university in Ireland, that she discovered she could turn her knack for hospitality into a fullfledged career.

“I had to do an internship, and I had no idea what I wanted to do,” she said. “My host mother suggested working at a hotel, and I absolutely loved it. There was something new to experience every day, and meeting people from all over the world gave me such pleasure.”

Following her internship at the Royal Marine Hotel in Dublin, Corinne attended the Louise Schroeder School in Wiesbaden, Germany, and graduated with a master’s degree in hospitality. After graduation, she worked as a VIP concierge at the five-star Dorint Sofitel in Wiesbaden, a position that ultimately led her to the U.S.

“The hotel group needed someone to go to America to better understand the needs of American travelers,” she said. “The White Barn Inn—part of Grace Hotels—was recruiting in Germany at that time, and that’s how I ended up in Maine.”

Corinne’s tenure at The White Barn Inn, a fellow Relais & Châteaux member, brought a new set of adventures; specifically, it provided the opportunity to serve as interim general manager at other luxury resorts opening under the Grace Hotels umbrella. She would travel to these new hotels to train the staff and establish the standards of service. In 2014, Corinne packed her bags and moved to St. Moritz, Switzerland, to manage the Hotel La Margna—all while maintaining her role as general manager of The White Barn Inn nearly 4,000 miles away.

She joined the Kennebunkport Resort Collection in Kennebunkport, Maine, in 2016 as general manager and then Ocean House in January 2017 as Director of Rooms, citing her constant desire to learn.

“When you become a general manager early in your career, you hit a plateau at some point. Working in this new role allows me to add skills to my toolbox.”

As Director of Rooms, Corinne coordinates guest arrivals and oversees several teams, including housekeeping, bell valet, the front desk and Watch Hill Inn. Simply put, she ensures all guests have memorable, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

When she’s not tending to guests, Corinne enjoys spending time with her dog, hiking, and—fitting for a true explorer—flying single-engine airplanes. She is working on collecting enough hours to earn her commercial pilot’s license.

Working in a state known for Del’s Lemonade— the sweet, citrusy summertime staple native to Rhode Island—what follows might come as a surprise: Citrus season is actually in the winter.

This may seem a little strange since many summer dishes revolve around this southern fruit (fish tacos with lime, iced tea with lemon, grapefruit sorbet and, of course, the famous Del’s). However, the truth is that while we are experiencing frigid temperatures in the northern hemisphere, our neighbors to the south are enjoying fun in the sun. Because some places have longer summer seasons than others, and we now have the ability to buy and ship produce from all over the world in a short

More specialized citrus fruits can only be purchased during the time of harvest—generally late December through early April, with certain fruits coming in earlier and others later.

Bergamot orange is one of my favorite citrus delights. If you are an avid tea drinker, you’ll know that Bergamot is the forward flavor in Earl Grey. It is also a fantastic addition to crème brûlée, roasted sunchokes and rice pilaf. There are so many varieties of citrus to choose from, and the sweet acidic flavor pairs just as nicely with the earthy flavors of winter as it does with spring and summer veggies.

One of my favorite citrus is the blood orange, with its trademark crimson flesh and juice that stains your hands. There are three types, with flavors ranging from tart to semi-sweet depending on the type and the season. Because of its unique color, the blood orange is often incorporated into recipes from cocktails to preserves. It’s also the inspiration for our featured recipe.

Sweet Potato & Blood Orange Stuffed Pasta Serves: 2–4

Ingredients 1 3/4 cups flour 1 teaspoon salt 1 large egg 6 large egg yolks 1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil 2 large roasted sweet potatoes 1/2 cup ricotta 2 egg whites 1 teaspoon salt Zest of 2 blood oranges

For the Pasta: In a large bowl, combine flour and salt.

Add egg, egg yolks and olive oil and work into flour mixture until evenly incorporated. When fully incorporated, take out of bowl and knead for 5-7 minutes until dough is smooth. Refrigerate in a freezer bag for one hour prior to using. Temper dough for 30 minutes prior to rolling out.

For the Filling: Remove skin, and mash roasted sweet potatoes into a paste. Add ricotta and egg whites and
