I am an Architecture graduate from the University of Porto, with a Masters degree in Architecture, with UK work experience in Construction, Architecture and Interiors . As a person with genuine ambition and interest for continuous learning and challenges, I enjoy working in multidisciplinary projects that require versatility and resourcefulness. I am currently looking for a position within a practice with a similar outlook. Throughout my years of studies and work I have gained a comprehensive set of skills both technical and artistic, which, helped me gain further understanding and insight of the architectural industry. During this period I have had the opportunity to be involved in the design of residential projects typology, with small insights into retail, exhibition and health. I have a keen interest in how spaces can be crafted, reinterpreted and reshaped to adopt new meaning. I enjoy the conceptual stages of a project together with the final detailing and visual renders. Particular- ly, the challenges of materialising an idea to obtain a comprehensive final design without compromising the original essence at the same time as doing this on a budget. In addition, I have developed the necessary skills that allow me to work effectively in a group as well as individually. On a personal level, I believe I am a resourceful person, I have demonstrated the ability to identify and troubleshoot critical issues during projects and final deadlines whilst maintaining my wits. Additionally, my job in project management has helped me gain great interpersonal and time management skills. My architectural education and early professional experience were in Porto, Portugal, where I gained a Masters degree in Architecture from the University of Porto (FAUP) with the Masters Thesis in “‘Dance Scenography’, an approach to the work of Frédéric Flamand” which covered design and uses of architecture in theatrical scenography. In 2008 I moved to Palermo, Italy to pursue the challenges of international studies and embrace the full experience of studying in a different, dynamic culture. I have been a oil painter since I was nine and very connected to the art world. My view of architecture comes in the same way, from the interpretation of volumes, colours, and emotional connections to the space as well the imagery used in the media. This is what lead me to write my thesis about Dance, the Body and the colourful Scenography.

Building Designs London
HOSP Private hospital and hotel Sielnica Slovakia 2012 health Charter Projects Confidential Confidential design and presentation documentation (competition)
program location year type colaborators client budget role
The new hospital responds to its landscape setting, aligning with the site contours and rising to a height of no more than four storeys. A balance is struck between the height and spread of the building on the site to ensure it does not dominate the landscape and the town. Materials, colours and textures blend with its natural setting. Sustainable approach permeates all aspects of this design proposal. The orientation and functional arrangement in an open grid optimises climatic conditions, particularly the optimisation of natural light, and the flexibility of future expansion in any direction. Flexibility lies at the core of the design concept, and is carried through every part of this proposal. The distinctive main entrance is immediately visible when entering the site and is approached along the main access road leading from the motorway slip road to the drop-off/pick-up area, or longer term parking areas. The pedestrian entrance routes are evident, open and welcoming, with the Main Reception clearly visible. Walking distances are reasonable and wayfinding simple and intuitive. The entry routes are lined by indigenous trees, continuing through the main entrance area glazed roof area into the courtyard beyond. The internal courtyards are extensions of the natural landscape, bringing light and a connection to nature to the heart of the hospital. The hotel is closely connected with the hospital, yet also separate. Where possible facilities would be shared. Thus conference and meeting rooms would serve both the hospital and the hotel. Spa facilities could be shared between the hotel and the alternative medicine department. Restaurants and catering could also fall under the hotel management and be shared. Hospital recovery wards and hotel bedrooms are designed on the same module with the option of ‘extending’ the hotel on upper floors to include former ‘wards’ – or vice-versa, should there be the demand. It would also be much easier for patients who no longer require to remain in the wards to continue their convalescence in the hotel.

NEVS Conceptualization & design of masterplan, private & public Nevskaya Usadba, Russia 2012 masterplan habitacional & comercial Technoproject , BEI Confidential Confidential design and presentation documentation (competition)
program location year type colaborators client budget role
The objective of the presentation was to establish basic principles and goals for the design process of the future development. • Establish key ‘feature’ thematic elements for the site • Promote flexible framework allowing for change • Socially and economically diverse community • Make most efficient use of the site • Establish coherent strategy for the whole development It is important that this major development should contain a rich, layered and varied mix of uses. Cities thrive on diversity, rather than the privatised and enclosed developments that predominate the design of previous eras. In this way it will act as a catalyst to regenerate this particular part of St. Petersburg as a desirable place to live, shop, meet, eat, stay and relax. Live - There are over 5000 apartments in the new development with access from the new streets, ensuring passive surveillance, throughout the day. These high quality contemporary apartments will provide a real sense of style. Eat - A wide range of restaurants on the piazza and shopping mall will be amongst the major attractions. Relax - A new green spine walkway completed by leisure hub will set a new standard for leisure facilities in the area. Shop - The new market street and piazza will provide the setting for a whole range of shops and services. Meet - The new central piazza lined with mature trees and promenade will surely become a favoured meeting point for friends and family and a space to relax in the street cafes.
