Oops, oops, double oops!! Why should you treat Top Gossip Guru, Shamantha Cox, with the respect she’s entitled to?! Because you ARE one of her fans, Mary!!! And if you’re smart enough to feast your queer eyes on this column in THE mommy dearest of all fag rags, Odyssey mag, you KNOW that truth lessons are being taught every issue!! Right again!! Loyal readers will remember last issue when your favorite writer, “Shamantga” blew the closet door wide open on barley legal superstar, Miss Justin Bieber’s out of control, everyday constant marijuana addiction that is ruining her young career faster than Harry Styles and the other four twinks in one direction!! Well, Harvey Levin, Perez Hilton, Radar and tmz-types caught on real quick, and Justin’s love affair with the killer kush splifs and blunts clock stuck on 4:20 lifestyle is the real reason for his massive split with gorgeous Selena Gomez!! Oh dear!! Ancient drug and alcohol dump-star, Charlie Sheen, claims he partied til the wee hours of the early morning with Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa in Mexico, and a picture of the hard partying pair surfaced shortly after!! But, Mayor Villaraigosa is denying the whole thing!! Yeah right!!! Kim Kardashian has said that she was shocked, surprised, and had no idea that her fame magnet boyfriend, Kanye West, was going to announce her pregnancy odysseymagazine.net • january 11–24, 2013

at his concert!! But, sources close to the Kardashian Clan say that she certainly knew and that’s why she begged her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, to keep their mouths shut until Kanye broke the news to maximize the publicity!! What’s this?!? Christopher Ciccone has slammed Lady GaGa’s style, saying that she is too over the top and she should emulate his sister, Queen Madonna’s style because it’s more accessible to fans!! Wow!! Problem child, Lindsay Lohan, has fled the country and is having the high time of her life in London, before she is scheduled to appear in court for her probation violation hearing!! Meanwhile, her fame whore father, Michael Lohan, has filed a defamation lawsuit against his ex-wife, Dina Lohan, because Dina claimed that Michael raped her during a 1990 cocaine binge!! Wheee!! “Dharma and Gregg” star, Thomas Gibson, was arrested for D.U.I., and 5 bloodthirsty LAPD officers wrestled him to the ground Rodney King style because they claim he was resisting arrest. However, a video that surfaced shows he was fully cooperative and the LAPD went way overboard using excessive force for no good reason!! What’s this?? Top rapper, Wiz Khalifa, is engaged to super model, Amber Rose, and she’s pregnant ?!?! In other romance news, actress Emma Roberts and her boyfriend, Evan Peters, have been seen all over New York

getting all lovey-dovey!! Hooray!! Top dyke, Rosie O’Donnell, and Michelle Rounds have just welcomed baby #2 into their lives!!! Hmmm… First she dumped American Royalty, Conner Kennedy, to date Harry Styles, and now Taylor Swift has ended that short love affair as well, and is once again single!! Uh oh!! Even though old troll, Simon Cowell, was somehow able to get young goddess, Carmen Electra, to be his girlfriend, he was spotted leaving a hotel early morning with his ex, Mezhgan Hussainy!! Ashton Kutcher, who??? Gorgeous Demi Moore travelled to Mexico and rumor has it she was flirting with several hot, young Mexican guys!!! Then, sex sounds were coming from her hotel room that were so loud, she was almost asked to leave the resort!!! Yippie!!! Beyoncé Knowles has taken the cover of GQ men’s magazine this month for their sexiest women alive issue!! Wow!! Katy Perry and John Mayer are getting so serious about their relationship that they are planning on moving in together!!! Gosh!!How many times do I have to say it?!?!? No wire hangers!!!! And no looking to other sources for gossip goodies!! All the dirt you need is right here in Odyssey Magazine alongside the best in nightlife, restaurants, entertainment, and everything else your queer heart desires!!! See you in two weeks, kiddies!!!!

Ray and Dante have burst onto the scene in this past year to become well-known producers of tribal house and circuit dance events in Los Angeles. A committed couple in real-life, this duo has helped revive the late-night party scene with their commitment to producing unique events with high production values and showcasing world class DJs that have frequently never had the chance to play this city. Ray and Dante state their focus is on “serious dance music” and they endeavor to create an environment for dedicated fans of tribal house and peak hour circuit sounds. While their entrance as circuit event producers has been somewhat recent, Ray Diaz, half of this production couple, is considered a pioneer in LA’s early rave/electronica scene. As general manager at the local KSCR radio, he received significant press attention when he controversially switched the station’s programming to the nation’s first electronica/techno format in 1991. Ray then went on to throw some of the biggest rave events in Los Angeles, including the largest warehouse rave in the USA up to that point, along with events at the Palladium, Arena, and other major venues, helping to establish Southern California as the epicenter of America’s burgeoning rave scene. Ray served as Knott’s Berry Farm’s official expert consultant on K-Rave, the only rave ever held at the amusement park. To this day, the events Ray was involved in are mentioned in many histories and news stories about the American rave scene. Ray in 1993 then launched the dance/techno-formatted RENEGADE RADIO 96.7FM bringing dance radio back to the Los Angeles airwaves, and loyal listeners from that time still call him by his on-air name “DJ Racer.” Ray’s accomplishments in pioneering the dance radio genre are acknowledged in several Wikipedia articles on the subject. odysseymagazine.net • january 11–24, 2013

Since starting their “PRIMETIME” parties at Circus Disco, Ray and Dante have featured such fantastically decorated themed events as MASK’D (masquerade ball), ONCE UPON A PRIMETIME (fairy tale), CANDYLAND ADVENTURE, PRIMETIME BOOTCAMP and THE RED PARTY (World AIDS Day benefit). Among the talented stars of the dance world that they have brought to LA in 2012 include Gustavo Scorpio (Brazil), DJ Escape (NYC), Big Kid (Singapore), Erez Ben Ishay (Tel Aviv), and Eddie Elias (NYC), along with such established big circuit DJ names as Phil B, Wayne G, Joe Gauthreaux, Alyson Calagna and DJ Alexander. Ray and Dante have also co-produced the “ASCEND” rave/trance after hours events at Ultra Suede, bringing in stars of the electronic dance music world like Kristina Sky, and they recently started a new event series “BREAKING DAWN” After Hours at the historic Crocker Club in downtown LA. Ray and Dante in 2013 have big plans in the works, starting with the launch January 26th of their new “MOMENTUM” event series utilizing both rooms of Circus Disco. This inaugural MOMENTUM will feature international superstar DJ Pagano, flying in from the UK for his first ever Los Angeles performance. Joining him at MOMENTUM are legendary electronic dance music veteran AJ Mora, G-Lounge NYC’s resident DJ Jalil Z in his LA debut, and Miami buzz DJ Joshua D. This event will also be the premiere of the newly renovated Circus Disco with extensive upgraded sound enhancements, new stunning advanced lighting effects, and updated décor. Look for this event producer couple to bring more unexpected surprises to the LA club scene in the coming months.

I will be offering a new 8-week performance art class on Tuesday nights at Spirit Studio (the old Zen Sushi) in Silver Lake. In this fun, creative and nonjudgmental workshop, we will combine gay liberation ideas with performance techniques to develop short pieces using our minds, bodies, and hearts, culminating in a small presentation on the final class. Come create new work or bring in something you have been wanting to develop. You can come to all 8 weeks or drop in when you can. No experience necessary. All are welcome! All of us, despite our orientation, can benefit from getting more gay, in the original radical liberationists sense of the word, and in the still untapped potential it contains.” Hot Art Jan 25: Lucky 13 @PopTart Gallery. Ripples Bar Presents Miss Conception’s “Guys as Dolls” Revue! Many changes are taking place at the legendary nightclub in Long Beach. Ripples Bar earlier this year was taken over by Tabitha, remodeled and grand-opened earlier this year, all of which was seen on the BRAVO cable channel. Unfortunately, Tabitha’s takeover just wasn’t good enough, and Tabitha herself was then taken over to make way for young, gay and fresh interior designer, Joshua Yeagley. His touch is truly bringing the vibe of a gorgeous beach house and VIP lounge, with Cabana style seating, hookah and more. With these changes come a new facelift for Long Beach’s drag. Miss Conception, a former Las Vegas headliner, premiered her show, “Guys as Dolls” Revue to a standing-room-only audience, a thunderous roar of applause, and a shower of dollar bills. Every Thursday night at 9:30 pm (reservations 562-4330357), Ripples would like to welcome you to a full production show including comedy, top 40, impersonations, live singing, and some of So-Cal’s most famed illusionists. Along with the show, there’s free beach parking and unbelievable drink specials. $4 wells and $3 Domestic bottles keep you intoxicated and happy. DJ RPM keeps the dance floor

Come and see what drag is really all about. The club also hosts birthdays, bachelorette parties, and other celebrations. All Drag Entertainers love a VIRGIN (ages 21 and over of course). With all the changes being made, Ripples is coming back to the community hard and heavy, becoming your new/old one-stop-spot for gay nightlife. More surprises are in store for the revamping of this landmark. Check it out, give it another chance. Come back and party and support your local businesses. Some facelifts can look very natural. You won’t be disappointed with your experience from a night out in the LBC! So grab up those dollar bills. Get your reservations in and welcome to the stage, the “Guys as Dolls” Revue. See you on the dance floor. Thursdays are such a DRAG.

It’s award season and I’ve just returned for Cybersocket’s Annual Awards, and was treated to performances by the always lovely Raja, and new Russian vixen, Irina. Raja was there plugging her new single, “Sublime”, produced by SIRPAUL, and Irina was there to premiere her new single, “One Last Kiss, produced by Dave Aude’ and co-written by Luciana. Look for both their singles; you will not be disappointed. They both told me that they gave more music coming out this year. I can’t wait to hear more from these two. Carmen Electra is back in the studio working on follow-up singles to “I Like It Loud”. “I Like It Loud” remixes are just being released to clubs now. I hear Hector Fonseca, Craig C. SIRPAUL, +36, and WAWA have all given it their treatment, as well as a slew of other mixers. As they say, this one will be bangin’ hard in the clubs. The video directed by Marco Ovando was shot in NYC and hosts cameos by Cazwell, Jonte’ and some other NYC club kiddies. Carmen closed out 2012 in Las Vegas performing for FOX NYE Live at Mandalay Bay Beach before heading over to The Act at Palazzo to celebrate the night away. I heard she was quite the hit with DJ Chuckie who promised to mix the new single. I’d love to hear a Chuckie mix on that. At first. I really did not get the appeal of “Scream & Shout” by will.i.am feat. Britney Spears. I mean is this really Britney’s anyway? Sounds like Luciana? When did Britney become British? And then I started hearing this track over and over and realized the beat is wicked, and will.i.am is not bad. Britney is just bat-shitcrazy, so it all makes sense to me now. It’s the infectious beat and the groove that wins you over. This bona fide hit was written by will.i.am, Jef Martens and Jean Baptiste, and produced by Lazy Jay. SEE YOU ON THE DANCEFLOOR, BITCHES. odysseymagazine.net • january 11–24, 2013

HOROSCOPES

by mrs. hello

Okay, hello. Happy 2013. This year’s lucky roll is not Boxcars, but Snake Eyes… It is “The Year of the Water Snake”. Do you remember that song, “Union of The Snake”? What the heck was that song about? You would have thought it was by Steely Dan, not Duran Duran. Wonder if it’s anything like the Garment Workers Union? Well, and you do wear it. As it turns out, this is going to be a year of significant developments in areas of science and technology. Research speeds up due to an influx of financial resources. The energy won’t be so much of a hurried nature, but rather one that is steady, and determined. Even though a sudden shift will occur from time to time, these events seemingly come out of nowhere and will be taken in stride. A Bewitching and Beguiling time tailor-made for the art of seduction; it will also have wisdom and philosophical understanding to offer. People might come off as a little coldblooded, but when out and about, always svelte and slinky. One thing is for sure - this is not going to be a water balloon fight we have. Read your horoscope. Kiss someone. Be all coiled up. After all, you’re all stars. Aries Mar 21 — Apr 19: Sudden events will blow up, forcing you to be flexible. Don’t get irritated. See where the silver linings are. Uranus usually frees you up from restrictions. What initially may seem unwelcome could turn out to be a blessing in disguise. Find your courage, and embrace change with open arms. Austin Armacost/ Robert Ordonez Taurus Apr 20 – May 21: Ms. Hollander had a fear of flying, but you tend to just go higher and higher. This month, you can soar in the clouds, but don’t be sore with old news or the wind might be blown out of your sails. The time is right to keep buoyant; let the residual be washed away clean for a New Year. DJ Paulo/Channing Tatum Gemini May 22 – Jun 21: Out with the old, I said OUT with old. What’s worth keeping never gets old, and what’s new is anybody’s guess, but unless you keep weeding the garden, your crop will yield odysseymagazine.net • january 11–24, 2013

precious little cash. You no longer need to cultivate people that cause you to use poor judgment. Now, heave ho! Kris Allen/Zachary Quinto Cancer Jun 22 – Jul 22: We all know a good DJ has it “in the mix”. Well, now you are going to DJ your own dance party called life. Think about the rhythm, the highs, the lows, and especially the transitions. If you think, count, wait, and feel (most of all), then they are going to love you out there for sure. Hey DJ! Johnny McGovern/Vin Diesel Leo July 23 - Aug 23: The New Year is like a wild, wild Western so far, as all who roll into town sooner or later encounter you. Question: Is this town big enough for more than one? From the Board Room to the bored-room, make sure you take time to make time. Chances are, if you do, there will be a bonanza at the okay corral soon. Louis Virtel/ Marlon Wayans Virgo Aug 24 – Sep 22: I once walked smack dab into a mirrored wall. The low light conditions had me convinced I could just keep going at a good clip, but I was stopped, and of all things, by a reflection of myself. The music just kept playing on and on, but I was stopped right in my tracks. Sound familiar? Tom Ford/Jonathan Taylor Thomas Libra Sep 23 – Oct 23: The Yin and the Yang are in balance now, so you’ll be able to do what you want and what your conscience tells you -- all at the same time. Your sunny, sociable personality will have everyone eating out of your hand. Everything will flow smoothly as nagging concerns drop away. Matt Dallas/Zac Efron Scorpio Oct 24 – Nov 22: A lifetime of judgment has led you to this: judge not, but…. but… But nothing! Is your name Judy? I didn’t think so. However, you can relax as this

also means you are off the hook for any “bad calls”. That must be a load off, huh? Now, let’s see if while off the hook, you can also be off the chain… disorder in the court. Sean Paul Lockhart/Sean Combs Sagittarius Nov 23 – Dec 21: Sometimes we put ourselves at the center of the Universe, other times at the center of a Bulls Eye pretending to be right, but being right and doing the right thing are not the same. You have been given a New Year. Slip into something more comfortable, like yourself, and try a new thing or two. Are you in or are you out? Jeffrey Sanker/Calvin Klein Capricorn Dec 22 – Jan 20: You have a keen way of energy conversion. What were the depths of despair became the sparks of thought and objective creativity as you refuse to not have just one more shot at the goal. The easy-going style is winning you friends all over town, and your lack of over-concern has sparked the interest of quite a few. Keep ‘em guessing. Simon Halls/Tyrese Aquarius Jan 21 - Feb 18: The Moon focuses you on family and emotional matters while Mercury stimulates your desire to talk, but you may end up babbling on about trivia, relating the same stories several times. Try to stand back and be more reflective, or those close to you will become bored. If you relax, you won’t sweat the tax. Joe Phillips/John Travolta Pisces Feb 19 – Mar 20: You, of all people, should know there are other fish in the sea. The worrying and fretting need to be a thing of the past, and you know what to do. A judgment made can sometimes bend after all. Avoid the edges, find your way to the middle, and rely on and trust yourself more than ever this year. Alexander McQueen/ Rob Kardashian
