THERE ARE FEW GREEN ON THE EXISTING RIVERBANK. BUT THERE IS MORE POSSIBILITY OF INTRODUCING GREEN TO MAKE THE CITY MORE VIBRANT THROUGH GREEN CORRIDOR.

STRATEGY

TIEING UP DHAKA CREATING LANDMARKS GREEN CORRIDOR ON THE RIVERBANK

THE EXISTING LANDMARK IS “AHSAN MANZIL” WHICH IS NOT WELL CONNECTED WITH THE CITY LIFE. SO LANDMARKS COULD BE INTRODUCED IN THE TERMINAL AREA AND THE ISLAND OF KERANIGANJ AND THEY COULD BE CONNECTED TO TIE UP THIS PART OF THE CITY. THE CANAL COULD BE EXPANDED TO BRING THE ISLAND ON FOCUS.

PATH OF GREEN BANDS GREEN NODES GREEN BANDS THE ROADSIDE STREETS OCCUPY MAJOR SPACE IN THE SITE SO THEY COULD BE USED TO INCREASE GREEN. STREETS ARE USED AS A VITAL SOCIAL SPACE FOR THE INHABITANTS SO MINGLING OF GREEN WITH THE OPEN STREETS SHOULD BE DONE ON EITHER SIDES OR NODES.

POCKET PARK OUR VISION OF SPACE AND ITS FUNCTION COULD EXPAND… QUESTIONS

•WHAT ARE THE ASPECTS OF URBAN DESIGN WHICH HELPS TO CREATE AN IDEAL PUBLIC SPACE?

•ARE PEDESTRIAN CONNECTIONS ENOUGH TO MAKE A PLACE MORE PERMEABLE?

•BY UTILIZING THE CONCEALED SPACE,PRIVATE SPACER ARE REDUCED. IS IT AN ESSENTIAL CHARACTER FOR URBAN DESIGN?
