Dear EPCAS member, Dear EPCAS friend, After the successful pilot edition in May 2016, we gladly announce the first official module of the European Event Catering Academy (EECA). This module will take place from Sunday November 6th to Tuesday November 8th, in Maastricht, The Netherlands. All feedback on the pilot edition, received from the participants, the EPCAS Advisory Council and our members, has been taken into consideration to ensure an even better module in November. During this EECA module, we will focus on Leaderment, a combination of Leadership and Management. Besides getting better insights on their personal behaviour, we offer the participants the tools to get the most out of their teams and colleagues. Together with our partners Stenden University of Applied Sciences and Q-staff, we have composed a well-balanced and interactive programme, with enough time to reflect on and process the information given. We look forward to welcoming your talents in Maastricht! Kind regards, On behalf of the EPCAS Board, Advisory Council and Secretariat,
Ruedi Bachmann EPCAS President
WHY EECA? The catering industry is changing rapidly. New trends emerge, economies are blurring and business models are evolving. Members of Generation Y gather their knowledge online and use the internet to gain information. But you can’t Google experience! Therefore, more and more universities are offering programmes that are focused on the further development of industry professionals. From hotel management to environmental entrepreneurship – the offer is extended. Many of these programmes, however, focus on the hospitality industry in general. Therefore, to further develop and retain high potentials in the catering and event industry, we launched the European Event Catering Academy (EECA). The EECA is a tailor-made programme, created by experts. The subjects taught are future proof and international. We offer a wellbalanced combination of knowledge taught by professors and industry professionals, as well as leadership skills, empowerment and insight in personal behavioural styles.

The city of Maastricht has the ‘joie de vivre’ that hospitality professionals can relate to, and has lost nothing of its charm, cachet or appeal over the years. We are proud of our city and proud of the local entrepreneurs who keep reinventing the hospitality concepts in the city. Get ready to be inspired!
Leadership
Empowerment Training This training focuses on setting and reaching personal or professional goals. The keywords of empowerment are dreaming, daring, doing and persisting. Starting with personal strengths and talents, we will shape a vision, strategy and eventually success!
How to successfully lead a team, at any level? How to optimize oneself, a team, meetings and time? By personal and demonstrative leadership! Our Leadership training focuses on developing personal leadership skills. During the training the participants are provided with practical tools, to develop and support a personal leadership style, which can immediately be put to practice.
Initiators The EECA is an initiative of the European Party Caterer Association (EPCAS), the platform connecting directors and owners of leading European catering companies. The goals of EPCAS are building friendships, delivering quality content, sharing knowledge & experiences and improving the catering industry as a whole. By setting up the European Event Catering Academy to develop talent within the industry, we believe that we will make a big impact. By partnering up with Stenden University of Applied Sciences, one of the leading international hospitality schools, and international training company Q-staff, we are convinced that we are able to offer an appealing and well-balanced programme.
Certification Twice a year, the 2,5-day training programme takes place in Maastricht, The Netherlands. Over the course of 1,5 years, a total of three different training modules take place. Each programme focuses on a specific field, such as Operations, Sales or Finance. Best practices and business cases from your own company are a returning theme, as well as leadership, empowerment and personal growth. Knowledge, skills and more insight in behaviour are also a major part of the offered learning experience. Furthermore, each module contains an inspirational and culinary Trend tour in Maastricht. To ensure a quality programme, a minimum of 10 and maximum of 20 participants is set. After each module, participants receive a certificate for their participation. After completing the full course, participants will receive a diploma. All three modules can be followed in a different sequence than offered.
