We believe that Catering & Hospitality perform important roles in our society. In our constantly changing world, the excitement about food & beverages in a perfectly designed environment is a paramount. The shared expertise between the European caterers proves to contribute time and time again to a strong and effective communication between caterers and their clients. Both on national as well as on European level it is vital to share expertise and insights about concept and product development. During the conference you will learn from best practices by professionals from inside and outside the catering industry. The conference will be held in Maastricht, which is the perfect host city because of its geographical location, its international character, the atmosphere and culinary culture of this city. Furthermore, Maastricht played a very important part in the existence of the European Union, since the members of the European Community signed the Maastricht Treaty for the European Union in the Provincial Government Buildings on the Meuse in 1992. We are very proud to welcome you at the Provincial Government Buildings on the Meuse and at the Maastricht Exhibition & Conference Centre (MECC). Attending the European Catering Conference in Maastricht will definitely help you to stay firmly attached to recent successes, to look into product developments and to share knowledge with like-minded colleagues. We are looking forward to welcoming you in Maastricht! With kind regards, The EPCAS Board & Conference Committee

A word by one of our associated partners Hans-Jürgen Krone, chief editor of Catering Inside As chief editor of Catering Inside I support the initiative of EPCAS to organize a conference for European Caterers. I am of the opinion that it is important for the German caterers to attend this conference and to get in contact with interesting colleagues on national level, but on European level as well. This is the excellent opportunity to be inspired with new ideas, concepts and to share experiences with European colleagues.

Taste is a pure experience. An experience, which Koppert Cress developed into art by providing seedlings, flowers and leafs of various plants, each of which amaze by their natural taste and appearance. Rob Baan made a successful business out of these cresses with his vision and a drive to do things differently. Being a passionate home-cooking chef himself, he was able to link his business knowledge from the seed industry with the culinary treasures he encountered on his travels. The Provincial Government Buildings on the Meuse

The European Catering Conference will be held in Maastricht, The Netherlands, where the roots of the European Party Caterer Association are situated. Maastricht is a European oriented city located in the South of The Netherlands, close to the borders of Belgium, Germany and France. Maastricht is one of the oldest cities in The Netherlands and dates back to the Celtic times, more than 500 years before the current era. The history is reflected in the city center, where a variety of Romanesque churches and squares stand side by side with modern, contemporary architecture. Millions of people visit Maastricht every year because of the atmosphere, the international character, the culture and the enjoyable hospitality concepts. Maastricht is the image of a Burgundian town, it is known for its rich café life and its numerous restaurants, many of which are of a very high quality. In this gastronomic capital, there is a strong focus on fine food and drinks. There is attention to the quality of the ingredients, their freshness and origin. Therefore, chefs of restaurants in Maastricht often use local and regional ingredients on the menu. Besides the hospitality industry, Maastricht is the heart of the European Union, where in 1992 the members of the European Community signed the Maastricht Treaty on Europe. Finally, Maastricht is a proud candidate to become Cultural Capital of Europe in 2018. Therefore, we believe this city is the perfect location to welcome the participants of the European Catering Conference.

Special word of thanks A special word of thanks goes to Mr. T. Bovens, the Queen’s commissioner of the province of Limburg and Mr. R. Hanssen, Director of the Maastricht Exhibition & Conference Centre, for their hospitality.
