EYFSCPD PROGRAMME

Inthepastfewyears,therehavebeenchangesinthe EarlyYearsandOfstedframeworks,andthereisnowa verystrongfocusonEYFSbyOfsted.Ofstedwill considerthequalityofeducationoverallwitha particularemphasisonLanguageand Communication,Reading-especiallyphonics, PhysicalDevelopment,andPersonal,Socialand EmotionalDevelopment.Therehasbeenarecognition oftheabsoluteimportanceofEYFSandtheneedfor rigour,highexpectations,andthebestpossible progresswiththeimportanceofadultinteractionsakey component

Ourprogrammewillprovidestaffwiththeverymost up-to-dateinformation,usingofficialguidancefrom OfstedandDFEandrecognisedresearchalongsidea hugerangeofpracticalideasandresources.

TheprogrammewillbeledbyWendyWheldon,who hasbeenpassionateaboutEarlyYearsthroughouther longcareerandunderstandsthedifferencegreat provisioncanmaketochildren'seducationandlife chances

WendywasaNationalLeaderofEducationandher schoolsachievedseveralOutstandingjudgementsfor EarlyYearsineachofherthreeheadships.

TheprogrammewillensureyourEYFSandschool areaswellpreparedaspossibleforOfstedand, justasimportantly,thatchildrenaremaking theverybestprogressatthismost importantstageoftheireducation.

HOWDOESITWORK?

Eachhalfterm,wefocusonanessentialaspectofEYFS.Schoolscanbook thecomprehensiveCPDpackageacrosstheyearandsaveupto£350,or chooseyourowncombinationoftrainingacrosstheyear.

Eachhalfterm.thereare3x1-hourtrainingsessionsonthehalf-termly EYFSfocus.WeunderstandthedemandsofEYFS,andwiththisinmind,we havestructuredourtrainingtogiveEYFSprofessionalsexactlywhatthey need-high-qualitytraininginfocusedareasinthree1-hoursessionseach halfterm

WendyWheldondeliversthe majorityofourEarlyYears courses.Wendyhasbeen teachingforover30yearsand hasexperienceinawiderangeof settingswithwidelydiffering catchmentareas:infantand nursery,primaryandfirstschools, pupilreferralunit(EBD),home educationandhighereducation Shehadfourverysuccessful headshipswithseveral ‘Outstanding’judgements.

Wendybecameoneofthefirst LocalLeadersofEducationin2010 andthenaNationalLeaderof Educationin2015.Since2017 Wendyhasworkedasan independentconsultantfora numberofLAsandAcademy TrustsinYorkshireandtheEast Midlands.Shehasparticular experienceandexpertiseinthe areasofstrategicleadership, improvingthequalityofteaching andlearning,reading,curriculum, SEND,vulnerablegroupsand EarlyYears.

Wendyhasover15years’ experienceofsupportingschools andraisingstandardsthrough schoolimprovementpartnertype support.Sheisskilledin supportingschoolstoimprove, particularlyinEYFSandshehas significantexperiencein completingsupportivereviewsof schooleffectivenessalongside schoolleaders.
