Beyond the Curriculum Opportunities for children and young people to connect with us in their own time

Our model here at Derby is unique – we are transforming the landscape of theatre and learning by providing unique access to professional theatre-making and nurturing creativity. We have something for learners at all stages, which can be tailored to meet your needs and can be anything from a simple workshop to a long-term developmental partnership. If you are applying to be an Arts Mark school or are doing Arts Award, we can help! We are very pleased to announce that Reprotec have renewed their sponsorship of the Learning Programme for 2016/17. To enquire about any aspect of our Learning Programme, contact the Learning Department.

It’s life-changing.

We hire costumes and props to schools and colleges. We have over 2,500 costume pieces built up over many years and are always adding to our stock. We can even make you something specific if we aren’t too busy. Our Head of Wardrobe is on hand to help with patterns, books and brilliant advice.

Come and join Derby Theatre professionals for skills and work as a team to create a mini performance to be shared on the final day for friends and family. All welcome!

We know it’s frustrating that our groups are often full, but as soon as you get in touch, you can automatically become a member of the Network.

Special Delivery! Great for developing communication and confidence. What if an exciting parcel arrived in your school one day? One week before the workshop, a special delivery will arrive for pupils to explore; to inspire conversation and imaginations. Who do the objects belong to? What are they for? The workshop will then use the now-familiar objects to help the group create their own stories and communicate with confidence to each other. 1 hour Dates: please enquire £75 each or £200 for a full day (up to 4 workshops in a day)

We have shared with parents and colleagues what a valuable experience this was for their children.
