CHANGE IS IN THE AIR
Wow! Can we talk for a minute about how much has changed in our sleepy, little town over the past few years? I remember growing up in Chickasha and always thinking, "I wish there was more".
It's no big secret, I love our town, but it's always felt like it was simply waiting on the edge of something big and was too afraid to take the next step. Somewhere along the way, our town decided enough was enough. Out with the old mindset of "It's just Chickasha" (my least favorite phrase) and in with the new mindset of "What can we do next?"
We, as a community, can do and are doing impossible things because we've chosen to start taking on a new, unknown and exciting future together as a team and it's paying off. Change is certainly in the air and everyone is following suit. You can't drive through town right now without seeing new buildings going up, old buildings being restored, people cleaning, painting, fixing and updating.
The little spark we needed certainly ignited a blaze which people far and wide have noticed and I could not be more proud to say, "This is Chickasha!"
Keep it up friends! Kristen

Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a 12 inch pizza sheet lightly with cooking spray. Set aside.
Step 2
Roll the pizza dough into a 12-inch circle and place it on top of the pizza pan. If you want the dough to be thinner, divide it in half and use the other half for pizza. Once it is in the pizza pan, let it rest for 10 minutes.
To Make the Spread
In a small bowl combine butter, brown sugar, oats, and cinnamon. Spread thinly on top of the pizza crust. Sprinkle with additional brown sugar if desired. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are light brown.
To Make the Glaze
Beat together butter and cream cheese. Add powdered sugar and vanilla until combined. If it is thick, put it in the microwave to soften it up. Drizzle on top of the pizza.

• 1/2 c old fashion oats
• 3 tsp cinnamon

Small Town Stories
THE HISTORY OF
In the mid 1930's a lady by the name of Inez White worked at the Quality Café located on South 4th Street. When the opportunity to start working in a new and upcoming cafe, Ms. White made the career change and accepted the head waitress position at the Lincoln Café.
Lincoln Café opened at 305 West Chickasha Avenue, where we are waiting for "Taqueria Mí Hacienda" to open in present day. In the above photograph, you can see the inside of the restaurant. By 1947, Ms. White became the owner of the café until 1952 when records of the café and Ms. White no longer exist.
The café served breakfast, sandwiches, salads and had daily specials. Customers could order chicken in a basket with shoestring potatoes, hot roll and butter for $0.50. If that price doesn't impress, you could also order lobster tail and butter for $0.40.
An original Lincoln Café artifact can be found on display at the Grady County Museum - a glass pitcher (or creamer). It's machine pressed glass has the words "Post Cereals Measured Creamer" located on the bottom.
