Program Overview


Program Mission The Ohio Dominican University Physician Assistant Program will educate students to become well-qualified, competent physician assistants practicing in physician supervised primary care and specialty patient focused teams. The ODU PA Program embraces a holistic approach to the pursuit of excellence in academics, research, clinical practice and community service. Graduates are able to: • Meet eligibility requirements for the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE). • Effectively communicate with patients and their families, physicians and other health care professionals. • Show entry-level proficiencies necessary to provide high-quality primary care in a rapidly changing health care system. • Demonstrate attitudes and skills that show their commitment to professional behavior, along with respect for self and others. • Provide quality, compassionate and ethical health care services. • Become a leader through continued knowledge, growth, research, publication and professional activity.

Admissions Requirements • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university • Minimum undergraduate GPA (overall and science) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale • Successful completion of prerequisite courses within eight years (See website for specifics.) • Minimum 250 hours of documented direct patient-care experience • Interview with program administrators

How to Apply • Apply through the Central Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) portal at www.caspaonline.org. • Submit transcripts, as required through CASPA. • Provide two letters of recommendation, as required through CASPA. • Complete an essay, as required through CASPA. • Submit GRE and/or MCAT scores no later than date of application deadline. • TOEFL score of 550 or electronic score of 79. • Must submit application by Oct. 1.
