UNVEILING THE TIMELESS CHARMS OF MALTESE CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS
Words by Terrence Mifsud
During the Carnival season, the Maltese islands come alive every year with an explosion of colour, music, and joyous celebrations. This colourful ritual, which is ingrained in Maltese society, is a mosaic of history, celebration, and ageless traditions that unite the past and present.
M
alta's carnival traditions date back to the Middle Ages, when the Knights of St John brought the joyous occasion to the islands. Since Grand Master Piero de Ponte's reign began in the Islands in 1535, carnival has been a wellknown holiday. Extensive masked balls, processions, and theatrical performances characterised the celebrations, offering a brief reprieve from the hardships of everyday existence. Carnival changed over the ages as a result of shifting political and social forces. During Piero de Ponte's rule in 1535, five years after the Order of St. John arrived, the carnival tradition began to gain widespread recognition. Grand Master Piero de Ponte was dissatisfied with
the number of arguments and fights, as well as the exaggeration by some knights during their feasts and masquerades. A week later, De Ponte made it plain in the general assembly of knights that he would not put up with any more wild excesses, particularly when they came from members of a religious order. His approval was restricted to sporting events and other military drills that Christian knights needed to practise before facing the Turks.
in inclement weather did not sit well with La Valette. Carnival in Malta had changes inspired by Victorian sensibilities throughout the British colonial era. While the opulence of masquerade balls persisted, the celebrations also included classy parades and social gatherings. The essence of Carnival as a period of celebration and joy endured despite the modifications.
across the archipelago, but especially in the capital city of Valletta and the charming village of Nadur in Gozo. A week of celebrations usually precede Ash Wednesday, culminating in a spectacular display of colourful costumes, intricate floats and the hearty pulse of Maltese music.
The magnificent processions through the streets of Valletta and Nadur are among the carnival's attractions. Detailed floats with vivid colours and detailed patterns highlight the artistry and ingenuity of nearby villages. In addition, participants in the parade wear colourful costumes depicting mythical animals or historical figures, dazzling onlookers with a visually stunning display. Since its inception in Malta, masks have played a significant role in Carnival. The custom of donning masks is still followed today, with participants dressing in elaborate and creative ways. Friendly rivalry is added by fancy dress competitions, which motivate players to show off their inventiveness and uniqueness in costume creation. Satire floats with subtly, sometimes not so subtly, political or social satire are a distinctive aspect of Maltese Carnival. These floats offer a forum for the lighthearted and funny expression of public opinion, enabling the community to converse in the vernacular of carnival. Malta's carnival is an all-ages event that places a strong focus on kid involvement. To promote a feeling of community and transmit Carnival customs to the following generation, schools and towns plan celebrations and parades especially for young revellers.
Grand Master Jean Parisot de Valette thought he had to discipline his knights in 1560 for celebrating excessively. He had permitted the wearing of masks in public, which for the remainder of the year was outlawed in Malta. There was music, dancing, and competition unlike anything seen in Malta before as the knights adorned the Order's fleet of ships in the dock. The sheer number of maskwearing individuals who had been invited to enjoy Carnival on board the yachts and who had remained at the Grand Harbour
Interestingly, carnival in Malta began to be concentrated in Valletta, the country's capital, in 1926. Other cities and villages witnessed a drop in carnival activity, mostly due to the rules established by the Carnival Committee and the rewards it gave out for participation. Malta had a resurgence of interest in its cultural legacy in the middle of the 20th century, which included a reinvigoration of Carnival customs. Nowadays, Malta's Carnival is a magnificent event that takes place all
Malta's carnival is an authentic manifestation of the ingenuity and tenacity of the island's culture, not just an eye-catching display. With its roots in history, the festival has evolved to become a vibrant manifestation of Maltese identity. Locals and guests join together in a timeless celebration that spans decades as they delight in the colours, music, and customs of Carnival. Malta's Carnival is more than simply a yearly celebration; it is an expression of the islands' lasting spirit and the colourful tapestry of customs that characterise its people. OH MY MALTA

Consequently, OhMyMalta has devised an itinerary that not only prevents overspending but also promising an immersive journey through the charming Maltese islands.
DAY 1: VALLETTA, THE ISLAND’S CAPITAL
Valletta
Naturally, our itinerary begins in Valletta, where stories of knights and nobles are painted on the streets bathed in sunlight. Start the day with a hearty Maltese breakfast at Caffe Cordina, a historical treasure in and of itself. The tastes of regional delicacies, which range in price from €8 to €12, establish the ideal mood for the day. Armed and prepared, enter the magnificent baroque structure famously known as St John's Co-Cathedral. Access to a church adorned with Caravaggio paintings and amazing architectural detail is available for a €10 entry.

For lunch, head to Strait Street, a charming old neighbourhood with a wide variety of dining alternatives. A budget of €15 to €20 here allows you to explore a plethora of regional tastes. The Upper Barrakka Gardens, a serene sanctuary with expansive views of Grand Harbour, is open in the afternoon for you to stroll through. You might then be intrigued to introduce yourself to the magnificence of Malta's history with a visit to the Grandmaster's Palace (entry charge €10), which includes the Changing of the Guard ritual.

An idyllic morning on the sandy sands with the blue Mediterranean as a backdrop may be had by taking a bus to Mellieha Bay. You cannot visit Mellieha and not explore the Red Tower. The tower was built by the Order of Saint John (Knights of Malta) in the late 17th century as part of the island's defensive system. Its characteristic reddish colour highlights the island's architectural mastery. Discover its rooftop for panoramic views and its historic interiors. The Red Tower entrance fee is just €2. After lunch at a neighbourhood restaurant in Mellieha (€15 to €20), explore the neighbouring Popeye Village, a fanciful

t is no cliché that Gozo is often called the island for all seasons, and this is not a recent phenomenon. Even 150 years ago, Edward Lear, the English artist, illustrator, musician, author and poet, was so fascinated and seduced by the island that he had to go as far as creating a new word - he called the island of Gozo pomskizillious. Undoubtedly, the countryside beckons in winter with its magical greenery dappled with flowering patches over the hills, meadows and valleys. Being out and about for walks, hikes, or picnics is always a joy, especially when you know you will return to a peaceful retreat or some cosy abode. Gozo offers idyllic accommodation options in terms of ambience, comfort and luxury. While the winter season is strongly tied to the Christmas feast, winter in Gozo is also brightened by the colourful bacchanalia of the Carnival festival, this year being celebrated between 9 – 13 February. Spring calls for more outdoor adventures amid the blooming countryside. Abseiling, cycling, and even kayaking are exciting options in springtime. Beyond these activities, you can also enjoy diving (which is usually on all year round except for a brief hiatus during winter). The season is a favourite for many travellers who plan to visit the island during the Easter break. Easter in Gozo is not just a weekend event. As an island steeped in religious traditions and devotions, Gozo provides a unique experience in processions, exhibitions and activities tied to the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. Once spring is over, it's time for the rush of the summer vibe. The hot season is all about the outdoors and the vibrant Mediterranean atmosphere, complete with traditional colourful village feasts and an intense party music scene. Head to the beach, enjoy the cool, scintillating waters and do not forget a dose of snorkelling. Check out water sports activities such as jet skiing for a higher adrenalin rush. If you're more laid back, consider a boat ride around the island of Gozo or Comino. In the evenings, there are many restaurants and dining options to consider. If you're keen on a sea-front table, booking is always advised. Autumn is once again a welcome season after the hot summer, and travellers during this season get to enjoy an extended but less intense summer that allows one to be more laid back. As the harvest season takes over the island, autumn ushers in the muchawaited opera season, reopening the cultural calendar after the summer celebrations. Beyond all this, Gozo's coast and countryside change from one palette to another over the seasons, making the island a magnificent source of inspiration. The stunning natural landscapes, the rugged coastline, and the pristine beaches are all part of the typical Gozitan postcard. The historic and iconic landmarks such as the Citadel, Ġgantija Temples, the Xewkija windmill, and the coastal towers are always lined up, ready and waiting for the visitors to discover their story. Gozo is an appealing all-year-round destination, and it is simply up to the traveller to pick the favourite time of the year to visit the island. OH MY MALTA

THE PICTURE PERFECT SUNSET Moving to the south-westerly coast, Xlendi awaits with its bustling bay and well-loved seaside resort. Beyond its array of restaurants, Xlendi is renowned for its mesmerising sunset. Don’t miss the chance to capture the sun’s descent over the sea in this picturesque setting.

NATURE'S EMBRACE Gozo’s natural wonders also include the Għasri valley, known as “Wied l-Għasri”. This beautiful creek invites visitors to take a leisurely walk amidst nature, and kayaking offers a unique perspective of the surroundings for the more adventurous.
THE CANDID SHOT For those who appreciate documentary-style photography, the main square of Victoria is the perfect spot. Sit, enjoy a coffee and pastizzi in Independence Square, and capture the essence of everyday Gozitan life. Market traders peddling their wares, locals running errands, and the occasional cat create the perfect snap.
STARRY SKIES AWAIT If you are someone who is enchanted by the night sky, Dwerja offers a remarkable setting for night photography. With its undeveloped coastline, this small island allows stargazers and astronomers to capture starlit skies over open seas. The absence of harsh light pollution makes it easy to spot well-known constellations and, if luck is on your side, the occasional shooting star.
AN UNUSUAL JUXTAPOSITION Adding a touch of history, Xwejni Bay Salt Pans, situated next to Marsalforn, showcase a checkerboard of rock-cut saltpans dating back 350 years. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these salt pans are integral to Gozo’s centuries-old tradition of sea salt production. The unique landscape provides an excellent opportunity for captivating snapshots.

MALTA TAKES OVER THE CHAIR OF THE ORGANIZATION FOR SECURITY AND COOPERATION IN EUROPE (OSCE) IN 2024 By Ambassador Natasha Meli Daudey, Ambassador of Malta to Austria, Permanent Representative of Malta to the OSCE & Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade
O
n 1 January 2024, Malta assumed the role of Chair-in-Office of the OSCE, an Organization that provides a platform for dialogue for 57 participating States hailing from Europe, North America, Central Asia, as well as the 11 Mediterranean and Asian Partners for Cooperation. Malta took on this role in the most unprecedented circumstances. Typically, decisions on OSCE chairpersonships are made at least two years prior to the term, however the absence of consensus left the Organization in a leadership impasse. The 57 participating States’ inability to agree on this and other important decisions raised doubts about the Organization’s functionality and capacity to respond to the ongoing complex security challenges, exacerbated by Russia’s war of aggression on Ukraine.

It was against this background that Malta was requested by the outgoing Chairpersonship of North Macedonia to consider assuming the role for 2024. While honoured to be placed with such trust, we were also cognisant of the role’s magnitude and responsibility.
on fostering dialogue and cooperation, acting as a true bridge-builder, a role continued within the OSCE.
Yet, Malta understood that if consensus could form around its name, it had the responsibility to step in, albeit at the eleventh hour, to help steer the Organization forward. A strong believer in multilateralism, Malta remains convinced of the OSCE’s relevance, bringing around the same table all key stakeholders in the European security architecture.
The foresight and negotiation skills of Maltese statesmen and diplomats ensured that the ‘Mediterranean chapter’ was included in the 1975 Helsinki Final Act, which set up the precursor of the OSCE - the Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe. Malta’s insistence and longterm vision was central to establishing the inextricable link between European and Mediterranean security. The rationale behind this established fact, upheld by the Helsinki Document, has been extended to neighbouring regions such as Asia.
Geographically positioned at the crossroads of the Mediterranean, since its independence Malta has embraced a foreign policy based
As Chair, Malta will safeguard and uphold the shared principles and commitments enshrined in the Organisation’s founding
documents. Towards this end, our main responsibility will be to lead weekly political dialogues, covering a range of issues under the OSCE’s comprehensive approach to security encompassing the politico-military, economic and environmental, and human dimensions. Besides chairing weekly Permanent Council meetings, our role will also involve brokering agreement on issues such as the Organisation’s budget and the leadership of the Organization, while building consensus on various decisions among the spectrum of opinions held by the OSCE’s 57 diverse participating States.
Ukraine, and to find solutions available under OSCE mechanisms to assist Ukraine and its people. Malta will also continue to seek solutions to ongoing conflicts in the OSCE area, placing human rights and the security of the region’s 1 billion people at the centre of its endeavours, whilst also providing support for the OSCE field presence on the ground.
Foreign Minister Ian Borg will serve as Malta’s Chair-in-Office, assisted by myself, a team of Maltese and foreign officials in Vienna, and the team at the Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs and Trade. The Chair-in-Office announced the Maltese Chairpersonship’s priorities on 25 January 2024.
At the core of its overarching priorities, the Maltese Chairpersonship will seek to strengthen the resilience of people - with particular focus on gender and youth - across all three dimensions of comprehensive security. Sustainable economies, environmental protection, food security, and climate change mitigation and adaptation are vital for prosperity and peace. Malta will seek to address the opportunities and challenges posed, including by digital technologies in these areas.
Throughout its Chairpersonship, Malta will emphasize, as a top priority, the need to end Russia’s ongoing war of aggression against

as priorities of the Maltese Chairpersonship. Digital literacy, countering misinformation and disinformation, the safety of journalists particularly that of female journalists online – and combating human trafficking, will be given similar importance. The OSCE in short The OSCE is a forum for political dialogue on a wide range of security issues. With 57 participating States across North America, Europe, and Asia, the OSCE works to build and sustain stability, peace and democracy for more than one billion people, through political dialogue and projects on the ground. With its expert units, institutions and network of field operations, the OSCE addresses issues that have an impact on common security such as arms control, terrorism, good governance, energy security, human trafficking, democratization, media freedom and national minorities. UNLOCKING THE DOORS OF THE GRAND MASTER’S PALACE FOR ALL TO EXPLORE
D Just like a butterfly emerging out of its cocoon, the Grand Master’s Palace’s has reopened its imposing door after the inauguration of its regeneration project. 26 OH MY MALTA
uring the past years, the sound of multilingual chatter of tourists within the Palace’s halls was replaced by the rhythmic tapping and whirring of tools of the myriad of skilled workers, intertwined with the enthusiastic chatter of conservators and curators, who, while exposing old layers of paint on the walls, were making remarkable historical discoveries. Such was the inception of Heritage Malta's most ambitious project, supported by funding from the European Regional
Development Fund. After years undergoing treatment by expert hands, the Palace has reopened its doors to present visitors with an unparalleled experience. The armoury, housing a collection considered among the world's finest, has been returned to its original hall after nearly 50 years. This relocation followed extensive renovations of the hall, previously used for Parliamentary sittings. This majestic building’s rich layers of history were however shown most clearly

Through the use of 3D laser scanning technology, the corridors’ condition was analysed and the best way forward was mapped out for their meticulous restoration, along with all the State Halls.
Additionally, in the areas known as the Palazzo del Monte, in fact the oldest parts of the Palace, and the Orangerie, which were the former Attorney General's offices, a new visitor centre has been built.
The Uccelliera, originally the space where Grand Masters kept their exotic birds and
The courtyards between these two areas were also restored. The Orangerie itself; created in the 17th century to provide shade during unforgiving Maltese summers and to serve as a greenhouse for fruit plants and trees during winter, was also renovated and will provide access for wheelchair users to the new Armoury. The Palace has now been transformed into a living monument that encapsulates more than 450 years of history, equipped with the latest technology to offer a comprehensive and accessible journey for every visitor, brilliantly showcasing the pride of a nation.

history took a drastic turn when a bomb reached the dome but, amazingly, did not detonate, saving the congregation's lives. The current church is the largest and most well-known structure in Malta; its architecture is modelled after the Pantheon in Rome and it has the third largest unsupported dome in the world. CATHEDRAL OF THE ASSUMPTION,VICTORIA The Cathedral of the Assumption, which is tucked away in the centre of Victoria, provides evidence of the island's persistent Christian tradition. Its history began in the 17th century, and throughout the years, it underwent extensions and repairs. The construction of the cathedral is a fusion of styles, and its significance goes beyond religious observance to include Gozo's cultural identity. The cathedral's ground plan is designed like a Latin cross and is an example of Baroque architecture. The façade of the structure is reminiscent of Rome's Church of the Gesù. On the northeastern front of the cathedral is a bell tower. Undoubtedly, visiting this cathedral is a must. Cathedral of the Assumption, Victoria
MDINA CATHEDRAL (ST. PAUL'S CATHEDRAL) Within the old city walls, the towering St. Paul's Cathedral rises impressively. Its roots are in the Norman era, and the cathedral features a fusion of Gothic and Baroque architectural forms. The inside is a veritable gold mine of artwork that perfectly captures the meeting point of creativity and religion. In addition to being included in the National Inventory of the Cultural Property of the Maltese Islands, it is a Grade 1 national monument. The St. John's Co-Cathedral in Valletta and the cathedral serve as the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Malta, a role they have shared since the 19th century. TA' PINU BASILICA, GOZO Located atop Gozo's hills, Ta' Pinu Basilica is a contemporary wonder with profound spiritual significance. distinctive contribution to Malta's spiritual landscape because of its tranquil setting and modern architecture. Pope Francis led a prayer meeting on the church's parvis in 2022, following his visit to the Chapel of Our Lady and silent prayer there. Additionally, the church structure has been included in the Maltese Islands' National Inventory of Cultural Property. These five churches, which are located in the centre of Malta's and Gozo’s sun-drenched landscapes, are each a living reminder of the island's spiritual evolution throughout the decades. These cathedrals tell tales of faith, resiliency, and artistic expression, from the majesty of St. John's Co-Cathedral to the hidden mysteries of St. Paul's Catacombs. In addition to seeing the architectural wonders of bygone times, our exploration of these hallowed places bears evidence to the ongoing influence of Christianity on Malta's cultural identity. These churches invite everyone to participate in Malta's spiritual tapestry with their enduring beauty, serving as pillars tying the past and present together. OH MY MALTA

THE LOCAL RECIPE:
IMQARET
32 OH MY MALTA
Yesenia from Apron and Whisk unveils the secret to perfect Maltese imqaret. Her meticulously crafted recipe combines rich dates and a golden, crispy crust, capturing the essence of Maltese sweetness.
INGREDIENTS (FOR 6 PERSONS) For the dough 400 g flour 100 g cold butter cubed 1 tbsp orange flower water 1 tbsp sugar 1/2 tsp baking powder 60 ml water 1 tsp aniseed liquor
For the filling 400 g dates pitted zest of an orange 1 tbsp orange flower water 125 ml water 1 tsp cloves 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp aniseed
METHOD The filling 1. Chop the dates into small pieces and place in a bowl of water for about half an hour. 2. Remove the dates from the water and place them in a pot on low heat. Reserve the water and set aside. 3. Together with the dates add all the other ingredients and cook gently on low heat. While constantly mixing the mixture add the water. Keep cooking until the dates break down and a thick mixture is formed. Place the paste in the fridge for about an hour. The dough 1.
2.
Add all the ingredients together, except the water, and combine everything well together. Start adding the water gently and knead the dough. Knead for a few minutes until you get a nice soft dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and place in the fridge for about an hour.
ASSEMBLY 1. Divide the dough and the filling into four portions. 2. On a floured surface, open each dough into a long rectangle about 50cm long and 10/15cm width. 3. Layer the paste on the dough on one side, leaving a border. Grab the small border over the date paste and close with the dough side over. Press the dough down gently. 4. Cut horizontally the diamond shaped imqaret. I make medium sized ones, as I cut the dough in 10 pieces. However, you can cut them as big as you'd like. FRIED IMQARET 1. Fill a large pot with vegetable oil. Heat the oil to about 170°C. 2. Cook the imqaret in batches for about 1 minute on each side. Place the cooked imqaret on a plate with tissue paper so that it absorbs the excess oil. OH MY MALTA

MALTA RESTAURANT GUIDE:
SALAD EDITION
Indulge in Malta's culinary delights with Emily A. Francis' curated list of the top 5 salads. From traditional Maltese blends to exotic twists, these salads promise a flavorful Mediterranean experience.
SEA SALT, SLIEMA Located in Sliema, this restaurant has a big reputation for fresh, fine foods. With each salad the base is the same. The salad contains rucolo and other mixed leaves topped with cherry tomatoes, spring onions, beetroot and cucumbers along with chopped almonds. The dressing is a creamy lemon vinaigrette. It’s subtle flavours all marry beautifully well together. Then you can choose your seafood from bass, salmon or prawns. I love local caught seabass personally, or the prawns. The close you are to the sea, the better the seafood will always be.

YIAMAS GREEK RESTAURANT, MOSTA
SOUL FOOD VEGAN RESTAURANT, VALLETTA I love to order the Zatar Salad with Tofu. This salad is a zesty, crispy healthy salad with tons of flavour because of the Zatar spices. The quinoa adds an extra layer to keep you more satiated for longer and there is a lemon zest which kicks it up with a citrus flair. This is an easy salad to go for if you are vegetarian or vegan. This sweet restaurant has a wonderful menu to please everyone and outdoor seating to accommodate large groups.
Located in Mosta, their Ceaser salad with chicken souvlaki is what brings me to this location. This and their Nutella Greek yoghurt dessert. Hey…If I’m having a salad, I’m also having dessert! Served on a large bed of fresh, crisp romaine lettuce this salad has croutons baked from their pita bread, chicken souvlaki, shaved parmesan cheese and their signature house-made Ceaser dressing.
THE GREENHOUSE, SWIEQI, IMRIEĦEL & GOZO FONTANELLA TEA GARDEN, MDINA
If I were visiting Malta and wanted to get my shopping done and a grab a salad that is sure to be fresh and delicious I’d stop over at Greens located in Gozo, Malta in Sweiqi and Mriehel the Greenhouse restaurant located inside has wonderful menu items to choose from. On the Menu under Healthy Corner lists several salads that are all made in house and are super fresh and delicious. The one we tend to pick often is the crispy beef salad. This is served with sweet chili and soya glaze. It has stir fry vegetables, feta cheese, toasted peanuts over bio mix lettuce and crispy beef. They also offer seafood salad, vegetarian salads and chicken salads each unique in its ingredients.
This is not just on my go-to list for best desserts, it also has my favourite salad anywhere! The combo of eating the salad and finishing with the chocolate cake and coffee is a bonus. This grilled chicken salad has a little bit of everything in it. The warm Middle Eastern spices they use for the chicken mixed with a very subtle lemon-creamy dressing blend with cherry tomatoes, avocado slices, mixed peppers, walnut slices, kalamata olives, feta cheese and topped with rocket leaves. It is the perfect sized meal if you plan to enjoy the dessert items and it packs a punch with flavours, textures and nutrition. OH MY MALTA

THE LOCAL MUSICIAN:
IN TUNE WITH RAQUELA DALLI GONZI From captivating the stages of Malta’s vibrant music scene to gracing international platforms, Raquela’s soulful voice has b ecome a beacon of versatility. Having started her musical journey at age four with the violin, she has seamlessly blended academia with passion throughout her life. Through exceptionally prestigious orchestral collaborations to her super catchy solo releases like ‘Breaking Free’ and ‘I Wish You Well,’ Raquela’s uplifting spirit shines through each note. Dayn a Camilleri Clarke catches up with Raquela to find out more!
Your musical journey spans diverse genres like pop, jazz, classical, and soul. How do you navigate these genres, and what elements influence your unique sound? My musical journey is shaped by various influences—from Fleetwood Mac’s timeless compositions to the soulful melodies of Barry White. Growing up with artists like Elton John, Mike and the Mechanics, the Police, Nek, and Laura Pausini, I developed a love for various styles. Classical masters such as Bach, Haydn, and Beethoven, combined with my childhood fascination with orchestras, laid the foundation. My passion for the violin, my seven-year studies, and inspiration from vocal legends like Whitney Houston and Alicia Keys contribute to my ability to adapt to diverse genres. Having participated in the Malta Eurovision Song Contest multiple times, what were the significant takeaways and contributions to your growth as an artist? Participating in 2009 was pivotal. Competing offered valuable experiences,
honing my professionalism on stage. Meticulous mental, physical, and emotional preparation became essential. These contests taught me the art of public speaking, diplomacy, and the subjectivity of competitions. Accepting results gracefully and understanding personal preferences shaped not only my stage presence but also my outlook on the dynamic nature of the industry. You’ve been involved in musical theatre productions. How does this compare to your work as a solo artist, and do they influence each other in terms of stage presence and vocal delivery? Recalling my debut in Seussical the Musical brings fond memories. The unique vocal and physical demands of theatre, where I embodied a proud kangaroo, contrast with the solo artist experience. While theatre offers collaborative energy, the solo artist role allows me to personally delve into my artistic element. Both experiences, though distinct, contribute to my growth, influencing stage presence and vocal delivery in complementary ways. Your collaborations with artists like
Matthew James, The Busker, and Tenishia have produced highly successful tracks. How do you approach collaboration, and what do you value most in working with other musicians to create a cohesive musical piece? Thriving in a team environment, I value collaborations with experienced artists and producers who respect and enhance my style. Whether redeveloping covers with Matthew James, creating vocal melodies with Tenishia, or collaborating on an original piece with The Busker, each collaboration is unique. The magic happens when strengths contribute to developing an idea into something more significant. What’s on the horizon for 2024? I’m actively engaged in writing music and performing at events, including weddings. You can stay updated on my latest endeavours by following me on Instagram and checking out my Facebook page. Go ahead and explore my tracks and collaborations on both Spotify and YouTube! OH MY MALTA
