Letter from the Editor My headshot from the Revue!

Hi, Oceanside High School Key Club! A new school year has officially begun! I can't believe it's already my senior year and my last year in this club. As your Editor and Webmaster this year, I hope to continue to accomplish the campaign promises I made last year- the bulletin board has already been finished and our Twitter account has been started (shameless plug: twitter.com/osidekeyclub), but the best is yet to come! This month has been a busy one-I was rehearsing every day for the Thespian Revue to perform in at the end of the month. I'm not really that talented of a singer or a dancer, but the experience definitely brought me out of my comfort zone. Additionally, as a senior, college application season has started and with it a huge source of stress for me. Anyways, in this issue of the OHS Key Club Newsletter, you'll see how we started the school year with our first meeting and first few events, as well as an introduction to the new board. I can't wait for an amazing year with you all! Yours in service, Tiffany Chou

Club Fair 2018 by: Areej Ahmed, Vice President The Club Fair is one of OHS's most popular events. As the school year starts, freshmen new to the school and upperclassmen looking to get more involved in the school can attend the Club Fair, which lasts approximately one hour right after school. Students can walk around the cafeteria to see what different clubs have to offer. As the Vice President of Key Club this year, I helped to make a posterboard advertising the club, and stood by it at the Club Fair to try and get as many people to come to our table to join Key Club! I loved getting to talk about my experiences and answer people's questions about what the club was.

by: Maggie McGarry, President

"The first meeting this year was a great experience. We had such a big turnout and I definitely saw a lot of enthusiasm in our new members. Hopefully this year is our best one yet!"

HOMECOMING BAKE SALE by: Vicky Lin

"This year, I participated in the Homecoming Bake Sale. Key Club sold baked goods such as cookies, cupcakes, brownies, and more! We raised money to go towards the LTC fund, so hopefully we can lower the cost for everyone to attend!"

OFFICER SPOTLIGHT: Maggie McGarry

Maggie McGarry is currently serving her second term as the President of the Oceanside High School Key Club. She is always willing to help out the members of the club, and attends all of the events with a smile on her face. She's also very accomplished outside of Key Club. This year, she is the Editor in Chief of the yearbook, and is a member of Thespian Troupe 132. She is dedicated and hardworking in everything she does, and we're lucky to have her as our President this year!

On behalf of the officers and advisors, we can't wait for a great school year!
