We are immensely proud that we can present to you the fourth edition of the Export Catalogue of the Polish Furniture Industry – it presents a great potential of the Polish furniture industry, thanks to which there are no geographical borders for our products. Furniture from Poland has been the synonym of the highest quality, modernity and great global design for many years and that is why it is eagerly chosen and appreciated by customers worldwide.
For many years the Polish furniture industry has been one of the leaders in furniture manufacturing on the international stage, occupying 6th place in the global ranking of furniture manufacturers. What is more, we occupy a very high position in the global ranking of furniture exporters – taking 2nd place just behind China. The value of the furniture market production in 2019 exceeded PLN 50 billion, which is a new record in the furniture industry! The Polish furniture industry plays a significant role in our domestic economy. In 2020, more than 30,000 companies connected with furniture manufacturing were registered in Poland, which offered direct employment to nearly 200,000 people. It is confirmed by a very high share of our sector in GDP, which has exceeded 2%. The global furniture market means continuous challenges that Polish furniture manufacturers have to face. The European market is slowly getting too small to make it possible for our industry to develop dynamically. That is why we have to be more open to new sales markets, also those more remote ones with different cultures. Obviously it is challenging, but Polish companies from the furniture industry are winning greater trust and are playing an increasingly significant role within the scope of international cooperation. As an example of such activity might be a participation of seven key Polish furniture brands at the stand in trade fairs in High Point, in the US. It was un unprecedented event. The year 2020 was a very difficult for the furniture industry. The ongoing SARS-COV-2 pandemic is a constant uncertainty about how our factories are run. We feel insecure, but also concern about the health of our relatives and employees, who are very important in furniture factories. We deeply hope that in a new year 2021, the new markets will be opened for Polish furniture and the great national strength of Polish furniture in the international arena will be proven. We also hope that the SARS-COV-2 pandemic will subside and that the furniture markets will again be stabilized and optimistic. I encourage you to read the Export Catalog of the Polish Furniture Industry and familiarize yourself with the diverse offer of Polish furniture manufacturers and to establish business contacts with them.
