In Fall 2024, we launched something new – our refreshed name, look, and feel for Continuing Studies and Corporate Training under the name InspirED. Now, as we settle into this exciting new chapter, we hope you’ve started to see InspirED out in the community, representing our commitment to empowering learners and businesses alike.

Viticulture Certificate
The viticulture program provides individuals with the skills and knowledge to manage a vineyard or seek employment in viticulture. Course work will emphasize the scientific principles underlying grape growing for the purpose of wine production, the various influences on grape quality, terminology, vineyard management including human resource and financial management, vineyard equipment operation and maintenance and safety. The course also includes work experience at a vineyard.

Make a difference in your community by getting rapidly trained for the long-term care sector. Supportive Care Assistants work within health care teams to support clients living in long-term care. Topics include professionalism, respect for clients and families and providing client and family-centered support. Learners also study inclusive practice skills when interacting with clients, families, and team members, how to provide personal support assistance techniques and the chain of infection as it relates to disease transmission and prevention. This short program is designed to provide learners with an understanding of trauma and its impact on individuals and communities. A one-day workshop for organic farmers, grape and tree fruit growers, nursery and greenhouse operations, as well as home gardeners will cover composting basics and the preparation of high-quality compost. Pruning of Trees and Fruit Trees AGR 158
Make sure you know good pruning from bad pruning. This workshop will review important modern concepts such as good tree structure, what and where to cut, as well as pruning tools and their maintenance. If you are aged 12-16 and want to learn all about ignition, compression, starting systems, valves, timing and governors, you will want to join us on campus for our Young Adult Small Engine Repair. This workshop blends theory with hands-on learning in our trades shop. Participants will have the opportunity to learn and work on two and four stroke engines. Closed-toed shoes and long pants are a must for the shop area and participants with long hair should bring elastics to tie back their hair.

Refund requests must be made at least two business days (48 hours) prior to the course start date. No refunds are issued for requests received with less than two business days’ notice. Students may withdraw by phone, e-mail, mail or in person.
Non-certificate courses with tuition fees of $500 or more will have a five business day refund policy unless an exception is made by the Director.
A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to secure a seat in the program.
Students must submit a completed withdraw form through their myOkanagan student account. For all certificate programs: to be eligible for a 100% refund of tuition paid (less the $200 non-refundable deposit) the Request to Withdraw must be received no later than 10 working days prior to start date of program. Refunds are not provided after above notification periods.
Exceptions are made on compassionate grounds.
Under no circumstances will refunds be granted for requests received after the end of a certificate program, course or workshop.
There will be a charge of $25 for N.S.F. cheques.
