CONTINUING STUDIES AND CORPORATE TRAINING

Message from Okanagan College President, Dr. Neil Fassina

Way’, Weytkp and Welcome to OC!

Whether this is the first time you’ve browsed our catalogue of short courses, certificates and micro-credentials, or you’re already part of our learning community – we have an incredible selection for you to choose from this fall and winter.

I often ask people what motivates them to consider education and training, and rarely are two answers the same. To me, this is a reminder that learning is a lifelong journey and not a straight line or the same pathway for everyone. That’s why it is so important that as a post-secondary institution, Okanagan College is open, accessible and relevant to students at all stages of life – from “first job” to our senior years.

OC’s courses are designed to reflect what is important across the communities we serve throughout the Okanagan Shuswap. You’ll find course offerings that are shorter in duration and more flexible than traditional degrees and diplomas, as well as credits that can be taken in sequence or “stacked” to achieve a certificate. Several of our offerings are in partnership or reflect involvement with local employers and provide potential pathways into employment.

We are thrilled to be able to continue offering courses across health and social development, business and leadership, trades, technology, arts and sciences. We also have options in areas of interest specific to region, including viticulture and beverage production, culinary arts and tourism management.

Okanagan College has for over sixty years offered programming designed to help people pursue their goals, advance their careers and further their education and training. I hope that as you explore the options available in the coming months at OC, you’ll be inspired, motivated and excited to be a part of our community.

We’re looking forward to it!

Liml mt, Kukstemc, Thank you,

Sincerely,

Neil

Message from Okanagan College’s Director of Continuing Studies and Corporate Training, Danelle Greebe

This summer, we’re launching something new at Okanagan College.

InspirED is our new name, look, and feel for the wide range of courses, certificates and short-duration programs offered by our Continuing Studies and Corporate Training team. These are designed to support you – whatever your aspirations might be.

We know that the decision to enrol in any learning opportunity reflects a goal or idea: whether it is rooted in professional development or a personal passion project, there’s something incredibly inspiring in the journey ahead.

The wide array of certificate programs and courses available this fall and winter at OC have the potential to enhance your career and build your networks and skills in ways that stretch far beyond a job. Each course is supported by an instructor with a passion for and experience in their topic area, and our catalogue includes a variety of flexible options to meet your needs.

I hope that as you browse through our Fall catalogue, you might find yourself inspired to learn and explore a new topic, or to build on your existing credentials to meet your personal goals. That’s the purpose of InspirED: by cultivating our shared love of learning and commitment to education, we will transform lives and communities together.

Thank you! We welcome your feedback and questions – please contact the InspirED / Continuing Studies and Corporate Training team at any of our campuses, and we’ll be happy to help.

Sincerely,

Okanagan College respectfully acknowledges that our Penticton, Kelowna and Vernon campuses are located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan People, our Salmon Arm campus is located on the traditional and unceded territory of the Secwépemc, and our Revelstoke centre is located on the traditional and unceded territories of the Ktunaxa, Secwépemc, Sinixt and Syilx Okanagan Peoples.
