FITNESS FACILITY AND SERVICES

Access cards to the fitness facility are available for purchase at a cost of $10 from the Office of the Registrar (Student Services Building).

Okanagan College is committed to promoting health and wellness as a lifestyle choice for all eligible students. Our facility offers a wide range of cardio machines and strength training options. Memberships can be purchased online for $10 or at the Office of the Registrar in the S Building. Cards are activated based on your enrollment and program dates and must be reactivated every semester at no charge unless you need a replacement card. WEIGHT ROOM ORIENTATION

Learn how to use the fitness facility equipment safely and effectively under the guidance of our staff. Book your orientation online at okanagan.bc.ca/kelownastudentlife and a fitness specialist will contact you.

COMMUNITY RECREATION PARTNER

In partnership with the City of Kelowna’s Parkinson Recreation Centre, Okanagan College is pleased to provide free swimming passes for students at this facility between September to April. Please visit the Athletics, Recreation, and Student Life office (A104) with your valid student ID to find out how to access these passes. You can also email us at kelownarec@okanagan.bc.ca.

OUTDOOR ADVENTURE PROGRAM

Athletics, Recreation, and Student Life is excited to continue with the Outdoor Adventure Program.

This program is intended to introduce students to fun recreational activities that are found in the Okanagan area. We will be giving away prizes on each excursion with a grand prize giveaway at the end of the semester. Look for the Outdoor Adventure Program logo (the winter boots) attached to the events that qualify.

BASEBALL

The Okanagan College Coyotes baseball team are looking to build off a successful Fall 2024 season.

Come out and support your Okanagan College baseball team by attending a home game this semester and catch some exciting baseball action. The 2024-25 season Canadian College World Series is set for May 2025.

SPRING FESTIVAL

Also known as Chinese New Year or Lunar New Year, Spring Festival is an annual festival in China and other Asian countries around the world. The celebration begins with the new moon which occurs sometime between January 21 and February 20 according to Western calendars. Festivities last until the following full moon. Join us as we celebrate the Year of the Snake.

STUDENT DAY AT SILVER STAR

Join us for our first fabulous day on the mountain with discounted lift tickets, rentals, and lessons. Never skied or snowboarded before? No problem. Ask us about a beginner package that includes a two-hour lesson. FREE transportation for Okanagan College Kelowna students.

Time: Meet in the Centre for Learning (E Building) Atrium at 7:30 a.m.

The bus departs Campus at 8 a.m. and leaves Silver Star at 4 p.m.

PING PONG TOURNAMENT

From its origins as a parlor game in Britain, ping pong has always been a popular recreational activity across the globe. Compete for the right to call yourself the Okanagan College Ping Pong Champ. Prizes will be awarded.

BEYOND THE CRUX CLIMBING SATURDAYS

Kelowna’s Original Indoor Rock-Climbing Gym hosts Okanagan College students with top rope climbing, bouldering, and lead climbing to fit your skill level. Join us and come test your skills or challenge your friends. Come experience the “thrill of the climb”.

Cost: $15 (Includes all three one-hour sessions, shoes, harness, and climbing instruction)
