Christmas fashion is already a topic of heavy discussion. Some people don’t like cheesy, ugly sweaters, and some people do! For those of us that do, there are so many cool variations of a Christmas sweater with cannabis on it If you don’t like cheesy sweaters, if you look through some of the options, they can actually look rather fashionable while still functioning as a fun item Lots of people get Christmas sweaters that incorporate their favorite things on them like TV shows or alcohol, so getting one with Santa and his elves rolling blunts instead of wrapping presents isn’t all that out of line... Just because you give others gifts during Christmas doesn’t mean you can’t give something to yourself! TRY TO ROLL A FANCY CHRISTMAS JOINT

Some of us take a lot of pride in our rolling skills, but do we have the skills to make a smokeable and artist joint? If you have the time, this is the perfect moment to try it out! Rolling might sound difficult if you’re not a joint or blunt smoker but once you get the hang of it, it’s no problem at all For Christmas, you could take some time and roll a Christmas tree shaped joint. Check out some tutorials on how to roll a cross joint and you’ll be on your way to the coolest thing you’ve ever smoked If this sounds like something that might just be impossible, you can purchase Christmas printed joint papers online or from your local smoke shop

Patients in the Bluegrass State Can Finally Get Cannabis Without Breaking Any Laws

Great news for the people of Kentucky who are seeking cannabis as an alternative to traditional pharmaceuticals, Kentucky Gov Andy Beshear signed an executive order allowing for just that.

The order currently lists 21 different ailments that will qualify for medical cannabis possession and use PTSD, cancer, and multiple sclerosis are a few of the named illnesses that will qualify

Nevada Senator Introduces Bill that Allows Banks to Work with the Cannabis Industry

U S Sen Jacky Rosen has introduced the Fair Access for Cannabis Small Business Act, which would ensure that legal cannabis businesses can access SBA services.

OREGON

Oregon Governor Pardons Over 45,000 for Simple Pot Possession

Oregon Governor Kate Brown has announced that she will be forgiving prior offenses for simple possession of cannabis The pardon is expected to affect more than 45000 people across Oregon and could potentially forgive up to $14 million in associated fines/fees.

Not even two months since President Biden made his speech to pardon simple cannabis possession inmates and asked states to do the same, we are starting to see some of the effects The Oregon Governor has granted pardons to people who had cannabis convictions before 2016 The only requirements for applicants are that they were 21 years old or older at the time of arrest, had less than an ounce (28 Grams) and there were not any victims involved.

Pinene is a cannabis terpene that is found in the essential oils of many plants, including pine needles, rosemary, and eucalyptus The terpenes smell has a strong, refreshing smell that is reminiscent of a pine tree or citrus fruits in the cannabis plant

Pinene is believed to have various benefits for human health, including improved breathing and anti inflammatory effects

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI)is currently involved in an investigation that has been requested by the Kingfisher County Sheriff's Office So far, four people have been reported killed and one injured at this time after an apparent hostage situation in a small town near Hennessey. Police were called to the farm on Sunday night, following reports that hostages had been taken Once on scene, they discovered that four victims have been shot and killed and a fifth seriously injured The search for a suspect is now underway, with law enforcement issuing an arrest warrant but not yet identifying him publicly The deaths have been treated as murder until further notice from authorities Sheriff Dennis Banther said, “We’ve begun the process of figuring out where he may have gone to ” The murders of five people, all Asians with involvement in the Oklahoma cannabis industry, appear to have been motivated by an internal dispute between two groups, rather than random violence

Back in 2018 when we voted on medical marijuana the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) was placed within the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). As of November 1, 2022, the OMMA will be its own stand alone agency thanks to Senate Bill 1543 The OMMA has been and will continue to process license applications for individuals, work with legislatures, craft and enforce rules, and conduct investigations related to violations

Since its inception, the OMMA has facilitated many rules and regulation changes regarding the use and consumption of medical marijuana The largest recent impact came in the form of a commercial license moratorium which may last two full years This moratorium was the result of House Bill 3208 and went into effect on August 26, 2022

Senate President Pro Tempore Greg Treat was the author of Senate Bill 1543 and provided “It’s important that OMMA has the ability to meet the ever changing needs of Oklahoma’s marijuana industry, and separating the authority as a stand alone agency will give OMMA the flexibility it needs to effectively lead in all facets, including enforcing the laws set forth by the Legislature and investigating any violations ”

Regarding the change, Executive Director of OMMA, Adria Berry, stated “At the end of the day, our priority is patient safety. I believe OMMA operating as an independent agency will ultimately allow us to regulate the industry more efficiently, which will in turn benefit the patients.”

The impact of this change will be apparent in time The legislature has made several changes to the medical marijuana industry and making the OMMA a stand alone agency is an attempt to “cut down on the black market that threatens the wellbeing of Oklahomans and properly regulate the legitimate businesses approved by voters ” House Majority Floor Leader Jon Echols

Good day and welcome back to all my canna chefs out there, I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving this year, it is my favorite holiday, and I love all the delicious food Now it’s December and time for more holidaze to celebrate This year I want to do my bacon-wrapped sausages with a maple glaze sauce It’s a quick, easy and delicious recipe for you to enjoy this holiday season

DIRECTIONS

1) First, let’s get the oven pre heated to 350 degrees F and have a baking tray ready Next, take the sausages and wrap each one in a single piece of bacon, leaving just the edges of the sausages still exposed What I like about this recipe is how you can make it your own by adding just a few of your favorite ingredients One of my favorite things to add is caramelized onions to the sausage then wrap it in bacon, you can also use peppers Mustard is something else you can add to the sausage before you wrap it up to add a little extra flavor Mix and match what you like and be creative

2) For this recipe, we are keeping it simple and adding a delicious sweet maple brown sugar BBQ sauce for dipping When wrapping the sausage I like to make sure the ends of the bacon are on the bottom of the sausage to ensure it stays on Place the sausages on the baking tray and cook for about 10 15 minutes or until fully cooked While the sausages are cooking it’s a great time to start the sauce In a pot melt the cannabutter and add the finely chopped onions, cook the onions until they start to lightly brown, then add the rest of the ingredients and mix Bring it to a boil and stir, reduce the heat to a simmer and cook for about 15 minutes

3) Taste and adjust seasoning as needed, if you want a sauce with a little more kick try adding a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the mix or even your favorite hot sauce I also like to brush a little sauce over the sausages and then toss them on the grill for a couple of minutes to help caramelize the sauce I like to serve the sausages by cutting them in half and skewering them with toothpicks served with warm sauce

This month, Chronic spoke with Jonathan Pollard of Grass Supply Grass Supply is a dispensary located in a suburb of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma It is one of a kind, and if you’re in the Edmond neighborhood, check it out!

Chronic: Let’s jump right in What is your position at Grass Supply? How long have you worked there?

<Jonathan Pollard> I am one of seven owners, and it’s a real family affair. My sister, Lexi, my brother, Josh, my brother in law, Nick, my cousin, Brandon, my best friend, Kevin, and my wife, Amanda are the other owners, and while it can be tricky to mix family and business, we have made this work remarkably well for us As far as my position goes, I am coach, cheerleader, bus driver, shoulder to cry on and ear to listen I like to think of myself as the leader of this rugged bunch!

Chronic: Did you expect cannabis to make such a splash in Oklahoma?

<Jonathan Pollard> I didn’t! I did not Oklahoma, being part of the Bible Belt, being strongly conservative, and what I know about the undercurrent of the state, I did not expect the bill to pass The number of years ago when it did was pretty surprising At that time, I was not ready to act on this passage of the bill as I did not have the same wherewithal or the life experience and knowledge that I have now Waiting until the time was right was the right thing, even though the market has been saturated And that’s something crazy too! When you think about the strict conservative viewpoints around cannabis, and how many of us were raised to think this was a gateway drug, when in my experience and the experience of many others shows that that is not the case Cannabis can give someone a new outlook on life They may not have been able to get out of bed before trying cannabis, and when it can give someone a new lease on life, it’s not something that needs to be frowned upon

Chronic: What is your favorite aspect of your job?

<Jonathan Pollard> Retail can be tricky Most of us have seen videos of people shouting at and demeaning employees In those moments of frustration, sometimes people forget that it is not okay to conflate your anger at, let’s say, some cold fries, with the employee you handed them to you Complaining about the product is fine but to devalue someone ' s worth due to a faulty product is wrong in and of itself. My favorite part of this job is to really be able to care for the people who trusted me to care for them Not only the patients that come in the door, but all the employees as well

For me, people are always first It’s important to care for people so they can care about what is important to you as well It’s all about granting grace to the people who need it and giving the care that you want to receive. Everything is all about respect and genuine appreciation for each person Since this is a family affair, we want to treat the people around us like family, too

Chronic: What's the best part about the store itself?

<Jonathan Pollard> The store itself is an art piece and a heart piece! We built the store with our bare hands, literally We laid the flooring, we bricked a wall, and we installed a fireplace just to name a few We actually put in our blood, sweat, and tears seriously! I’ve got the scars to prove it! We took real care to build this the way that reflected a representation of the care and the love that we are trying to show the community We wanted a store that would be open, where people would feel less intimidated We put so much love and care into it It was all of our ideas combined The store is like a precious jewel that we wanted to share with others Going to a dispensary doesn’t have to be dark or intimidating, especially when you’re new to the concept as a whole. While it is all over the state, cannabis truly feels like an open secret Due to this, we are trying to open the door to de stigmatization and start a real conversation around cannabis, the ways it can be used, and the people it helps

Chronic: Tell me about your employee culture?

In moments of failure, it is necessary to give people grace and respect because that is how you should treat people Our goal is to continually mirror the grace and flexibility that we are given to those around us Be a mirror and not a sponge, it takes forethought and it takes mindfulness. Are you in the market for some fun and stoner friendly activities to do during this Christmas season? I hope so! For those that celebrate Christmas, there are some particularly fun cannabis based things to do by yourself, with friends or with family.

Now that Christmas is around the corner and there are five Saturdays in December, we have to find something to do for extra fun during the holidays Personally, I think after the last couple of years, we could all use some fun, love, and joy Also, while just sitting on the couch can be fun, sometimes we stoners need an activity to do and it’s always better to have fun around the holidays

Christmas Parties and Events

During this joyous season, there will be parties, tree lightings, toy drives, and more all held in your local area or in a close city With so many options, why pick only one? In every state I’ve spent Christmas, the zoos always have Christmas tree lightings that are beautiful

Walk around events like these are perfect for participating in after taking an edible, as you probably can’t and shouldn’t smoke at the zoo or a crowded function. If you can't visit the zoo, take a sober drive through the neighborhoods so you can fulfill your string light dreams

A different event to try out our toy drives, many churches have them every year and local food banks do too

This is a great way to give back to the community, and while you cannot and should not give out cannabis themed toys, providing a child with just one Christmas gift is better than any strain

Christmas concerts flood the local theaters and big stadiums every year If you like music, you probably love it when you mix it with THC This is another event that will require you and your ground to ingest before, rather than during, but this should not deter you! This is something you can do with a few friends and hang out while you shop and get all the crafts together This might become a new tradition! Who knows? But I will be attempting to make one for my house, that’s for sure

Christmas goes hand in hand with cooking and baking If you’re a stoner, this is a perfect opportunity to start infusing your own edibles Cannabis butter is pretty easy to make, and a machine to make it is cheaper than you’d expect Since there are so many Christmas recipes (fruitcake, cookies, gingerbread men, pecan pie, sticky toffee pudding, etc ), you can add some THC into whatever you want! Amazon even has some pot leaf shaped cookie cutters.

Something like this can also be a great idea for a gift A plate of cookies or a pan of brownies can be even more heartfelt than a personalized sweater, and much better than a gift card.
