The Monthly Cannabis Review - Wavy Flower Company

Love is in the air, as they say. The cool February air brings a warm familiar feeling that reminds us of cut-out paper hearts and stuffed animals holding onto balloons. February isn’t just the month of love or the shortest month as it’s notoriously known. February here in Oklahoma means another chance to feature some of the best growers, processors, and genetics that Oklahoma Cannabis has to offer. With the theme of love in mind, I knew the perfect pick would be a couple doing big things in genetics and with their brand. Wavy Flower Company is probably a brand you have seen around. Known for their original strains, this genetics producer has brought some fire to Oklahoma. We had a chance to get to know the couple behind the brand, Wavy Flower Company, and had the pleasure of asking them some questions.

The Chronic: How long have you been using/growing/processing cannabis?

Wavy Flower Company: We started growing for personal use after leaving Florida in 2017 when zero advocation was happening for patients and home growers. While in Portland, Oregon from 2017-2020, we had to work overtime to educate ourselves on genetics, growing, terpenes, cannabinoids and everything! We were years behind the West Coast. We started our journey of finding our favorite cultivars based on medicinal value and set down the path to making our first cross, Oregon Wine. We knew we had something special and unique on our hands after our first run in 2018. At first, we had no intentions of starting a business but enjoyed our creation. After traveling to many other legal states, and seeing what they had to offer, we knew we had something that could really benefit our community. Wavy Flower Company, a genetics company based on seeds and clones, was created in 2020.

The Chronic: How large is your team and who does it include?

Wavy Flower Company: We have a VERY small team, just Wavy and Bee, myself. Wavy curates the new cultivars, while I bring them to life. Wavy's palette is impeccable, able to pick out the slightest aromas and terpenes, then pair them with something you have never tasted. I bring that cultivar to life (and talk about it incessantly).

The Chronic: Known for your genetics, what sets Wavy Flower Company apart from the rest?

Wavy Flower Company: Our goal is to mostly use and preserve genetics from the past. This is what makes us so unique. We aren't using the hype cultivars that you see repeated over and over. We want to build nostalgia, with those old scents: black rubber, cheese, pine, and our personal favorite, rotting fruit

Most people do not know that you can buy ungerminated seeds as they are federally legal. Many people contact us asking if you need to be patient, and you do not! We also offer 5 podcast episodes on our website from start to finish on how to grow, completely free. Grow your own meds, and know exactly what is going Into them

The Chronic: What is your company motto?

Wavy Flower Company: Keep it Terpelicious 🌱

The Chronic: What does the future hold for your companies?

Wavy Flower Company: World Domination! In seriousness, we are currently commercially grown in five states, homegrown and almost 50 states, and eight countries. As legalization continues to grow, we would like to be able to partner with as many people as possible to get true medicinal cannabis to everyone who needs and deserves it.And as for, what should the future hold for cannabis…We also hope to see more women, LGBTQ+, and BIPOC owners start to emerge, causing a more equitable environment in cannabis as a whole.

There needs to be more education based around cannabinoids, terpenes, and the endocannabinoid system. We need to help teach patients that THC value doesn't matter in comparison to all the other important aspects of the cannabis plant. We are focusing on all the wrong things.“I also co-host Stoned N'Social, a podcast created by Nat, an educator and advocate out of Washington DC. Not only do we cover education, but also dabble in conspiracy theories, and other fun topics from week to week! You never know what you're going to get when you tune in with us.” Bee tells us.

We want to thank Wavy Flower Company for the behind-the-scenes look at their company and for the fun look into their personalities. If you see anything by Wavy Flower at a shop near you, don’t miss these amazing genetics. Follow them @wavy.flower.company on IG for updates and more about their podcast. We especially would like to thank Wavy Flower Company for providing clean, quality genetics and meds to Oklahoma patients.

As Always, Remember to Medicate Responsibly and Stay Lit Oklahoma.
