Victorian
This style was very popular in the mid to late 19th century. These houses are often reffered to as looking similar to “gingerbread houses�. The architecture of them overall is very old but sohpisticated looking.
Shed Style
Refers to a style of architecture in which the roofs are usually sloped. They are also usually shaped in lots of different angles. Was very popular in the 1970s and 1980s.
Ranch
This type of architecture is a one story house. These kinds of houses are known for being long and very close to the ground. They’re also known for having a wide open layout.
Prairie
This style of architecture is commonly known for blending into nature. It is very simple yet stunning. Another thing it is well known for is it’s mostly flat roofing.
Italianate
Overall very sqaure shaped with very flat roofing. Most common in the 19th century. Part of the History of Classical architecture.
Greek Revival
Structures of this style include columns, porches, and triangular roofing. Was developed becuase of people once again being interested in classical Greek art and architecture. Popular in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Georgian
Most common between 1714 and 1840. Known for being very symmetrical. Based on the classical architecture of Greece and Rome, revived in renaissance architecture.
Geodesic
Very unique dome, spherical shaped homes. Developed in the twentieth century, common in few places of architecture today, but can sometimes be found next to highways.
Federal Very symmetrical kind of architecture. These kinds of homes commonly have very flat fronts of their buidlings. They also usually have multiple windows.
Craftsman
This style of architecture is known for its low-pitched roofs and very large front porches. Craftsman architects often refer to this style as being simpler and leads to a comfier life.
A-Frame
Steeply angles sides/roofs that meet at the top to make the shape of a letter A. Commonly have many windows at the fronts and backs of the homes.
