Georgian

This style of Architecture was a way to show off your mass amounts of money. These houses could have things to characterize them like, columns, high peaked roof, and lots of stone and brick, etc. this style came from england and had very elaborate entry ways.


Federal

Federal style is a simple square or rectangular box, two or three stories high and two rooms deep. identified by its symmetrical composition and formal, classical details.


Greek Revival

Greek revival style house is characterized as symmetrical shape, pilasters, columns, a porch entry, a window in the pediment, and plain or highly decorated cornices and friezes. Chimneys were placed as far back as possible to make the home look more like a greek temple.


Italianate

Italianate homes have gently sloping roofs and deep overhanging eaves, which are seemingly supported by a row of decorative brackets, or corbels. Brick, stone or stucco is used to construct the exterior. Tall, rounded windows. First-floor windows are taller than those on upper


Victorian

Victorian houses have things like, Stained glass doorways, high ceilings and ornate lighting. detailed floor tiles, decorated black and white gable and bargeboards, Iconic bay window features. Coloured brickwork, Original feature fireplaces.


Prairie

the Prairie style of housing has, horizontal lines, flat or hipped roofs with broad overhanging eaves, windows grouped in horizontal bands, integration with the landscape, solid construction, craftsmanship!


Craftsman

The Craftsman style homes have porches with thick square or round columns and stone porch supports. Low-pitched roofs. The homes typically have a low roof with wide eaves and triangular brackets. Exposed beams.


Ranch

The Ranch style of homes are one-story houses with an open and casual layout. The shape of the house is either rectangular or an “L” or “U” shape. The houses have low-pitched roofs and extended eaves.


Shed

The Shed style homes have random angled, lots of glass, no meant to be symetrical. This style was popular in the 80’s.


A-Frame

An A-frame house or other A-frame building is an architectural house or building style featuring steeply-angled side, that usually begin at or near the foundation line, and meet at the top in the shape of the letter A. An A-frame ceiling can be open to the top rafters.


Geodesic Dome

A Geodesic dome is a hemispherical thin-shell structure based on a geodesic polyhedron. The triangular elements of the dome are structurally rigid and distribute the structural stress throughout the structure, making geodesic domes able to withstand very heavy loads for their size.
