Prairie Architectural Style


The prairie architectural style was commonly used from 1900-1920. This style was invented by Frank Lloyd Wright. Most Prairie Styled homes are neutral colored and don’t stand out very much compared to other homes.

Craftsman Architectural Style

A Craftsman Style is very common now a days. It is seemed to be a “suburan home�. Most Craftman styled homes are neutral in color and have a low pitched gable roof or hip roof. A porch with a roof is supported by columns as shown in the picture.

Ranch Architectural Style


A Ranch styled home became very popular when people decided to leave the urban area and go to the suburbs or rural to raise a family. This home is easily recognised as being one story. The front and backyard are very spacious which is goof for a growing family.

Shed Architectural Style


This type of home was invented by Charles Moore and Robert Venturi. Shed styled homes were very popular during the 1960’s. The unique part about this style is the angeled and asymmetrical roofs that take peoples attention.

A-Frame Architectural Style


A-Frame styled homes stand out for their unique roofs. The name of the style comes from the gable roof that forms an “A�. This style is perfect for a 1-2 person home becuse the interior space is not ideal for a growing family.

Geodesic Architectural Style

This one of a kind home is knowns for its “dome” shape. Becuse of the unique shape of the home, interior walls aren’t needed which makes the cost of the home lower. Heat loss is minimized by decrease in surface area which means that the price of the house is lower than most of the other architectural styles.

Having a geodesic home is very unique and adding honeycomb shelves can incorporate on the unique themed home.


Georgian Architectural Style

A georgian style home is symmetrical which makes the home look formal. Many people had this type of home throughout the 1700s. At that time, having a Georgian home was a symbol of wealth since multiple materials were used which makes the home more expensive. Central chimneys and pilaters are very common with this architectural style.
