Dream House

ASSIGNMENT:

For this project, we were to create our dream house. My goals for this house included an open floor plan, along with a beach theme.

CONCEPT:

I want my dream house to be located on the beach in California. My house consits of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. I wanted to keep my house very open with lots of natural light, so I made sure to add lots of windows. I stuck with cool colors to keep a beach theme. I kept all the flooring in my house a light grey hard wood, making it easy to clean. I also made sure to incoorperate the beach in every room of my house.

CLIENT DREAM OFFICE

ASSIGNMENT:

After being assigned to a client, my job was to create a dream at home office for her. I had to interview to discover what her likes and dislikes were.

DESIGN CONCEPT:

My client told me that she wanted to have two seperate workspaces, one for her, and one for her husband. She also told me that she wanted to have a sitting area for guests. I wanted to keep a calming and also cozy feel in this office. In order to do this, I used a big bay window for lots of natural light and a cool color scheme, consisting of blue.

ONE ROOM CHAL LE NGE

ASSIGNMENT:

In this assignment, I was assigned to pick the ugliest room of my house, and redesign it. I had to come up with the flooring, color scheme, and furnishings included in the room.

DESIGN CONCEPT:

For my One Room Challenge, I chose to re design my basement. My current basement, consists of two couches, a coffee table, and a T.V. I decided to add a bar in the corner of the basment, as well as a big sectional, and a pool table for fun. I added windows for more natural light, and changed the flooring to a hardwood, instead of carpet. I kept the color scheme very natural and calm, using cool colors.

PARADE OF HOMES

ASSIGNMENT:

In this project, I was assigned to create a room inspired by one of the Parade of Homes that we toured. This project was different because I had to draw and come up with my own accessories.

DESIGN CONCEPT:

I decided to design a kitchen, inspired by a Parade of Homes kitchen. My goal was to keep the kitchen very spacious and open. In order to achieve this, I added lots of windows for natural light, and tried to keep the room very organized. I chose an accented neutral color scheme, to allow a comfortable, calm feel.
