Complementary

A Complementary color scheme is when two colors directly across the color wheel are used. Most commonly used pairs of these colors are the red-green, blue-orange, and purple-yellow. This color scheme can be used in all aspects of life like used in the paintings.


Triadic

A Triadic color scheme is when three hues/colors are used when they are equal distances apart. The colors most notably form a triangle when connected.These colors are also most commonly used as red-blue-yellow, orange-green-purple, and more like in the photos above.


Monochromatic The Monochromatic color scheme is the usage of different tints and shades of one specific color in the color wheel. This color scheme is also described using different values and colors. The colors used can vary but must remain in the values of one color.


Neutral

The Neutral color scheme are colors That dont show on the color wheel. Neutral colors consist of black, white, gray, brown, and beige. They are also frequently used to give a more elegant feel in a room.


Accented Neutral

The Accented Neutral color scheme is considered to be the “pop of color� in an otherwise Neutral color scheme. Accented Neutral is when a color from the color wheel is added to a room or painting of Neutral colors such as black, white, brown, grey, etc. It becomes the bright/accented color in Neutral colored room.


Analogous

Analogous color schemes are formed when three colors in a row are next to each other on the color wheel. These colors are commonly used in a yellow-yellow orange-orange formation, yellow-lime-green formation, and more. Some examples of these are also shown in photos above.


Split Complementary Split Complementary color scheme is made up of three colors/hues. This color scheme consistes of a main color then the other two colors are on either side of the complementary color that makes up the color scheme of Split Complementary. Multiple examples of these are shown in the photos above.


Tetrad

A Tetrad color scheme is made up of four separate colors that create a rectangle or diamond shape on the color wheel. This color scheme is used in many different ways such as paintings, photography, interior design, and more. These photos above use a few variations of the color scheme.


Complementary Triad The Complementary Triad color scheme consists of four colors. The Complementary Triad color scheme is made up of two complementary colors across the color wheel, the third color is at a 90° angle to the other colors. Examples of these colors are used in the photos above.


Analogous Complementary An Analogous Complementary color scheme is made up of two complementary colors across the color wheel where one side is in the middle of the two other colors used. This color scheme combines the ideas of a Complementary color scheme and Analogous color scheme. Examples of these colors are in the photos above.
