Georgian
The georgian style is meant to show wealth and elegance. The design is very balanced with 2 to 3 stories. Georgian houses can have a hip or gabble roof with a central chimney. Pilasters, pediment and contrasting materials are highlights of the georgian style.

Fedreral A federal style homes have two to three stories and are two rooms deep. The house itself is a simple square or rectangle box. Shutters are sometimes present with the federal style home. The federal style is in honor of the federal government after the American Revolution.
Greek Revival houses are usually white with pillars and a porch. Greek revival houses have a gable roof and are neutral colors. A rectangle shape is usually seen with the greek revival homes.
Italianate himes are known for their signature red stone and overhanging hip roof. Tall skinny windows in patterns of twos or threes as well as archways are present in italianate homes. A column or square over the front entrance and warm neutral colors are seen in the italianate homes.
Victorian homes have mansard roofs. Its signature look is gingerbread style Architecture with random colors. Victorian houses are multi-story homes consisting of two or three stories
Colonail revival style homes are a combination of the federal, cape cod and salt box style homes. The shape of the colonial revival homes are based on the salx box style homes, the wimdows on the federal homes and the peaking window shape from the cape cod style homes. Colonail revival homes are symmetrical with chimneys and a front porch.
Craftsman homes have a low pitched gable or hip roof. Decorative beams and contrasting materials are incorperated into the craftsman homes. The roof is usually supported by columns or pedestals connected to a porch.
Ranch style homes are known for their open floor plans with a walk-out basement. Rnch homes only have one story so are easy to add onto. A gable roof is also incorperated into the ranch style.
Despite popular belief, shed style homes are elegant as ell as abstract. The roof of shed style hojmes are asymmetrically angled. The shed style arose in the 1960s with the help of Charles Moore and Robert Ventun.
