Georgian The georgian style of architecture is made to show off the wealth of the owner. The house commonly shows an elegance on the inside and out. There is commonly a grand entrance with a balcony above the front door.
Federal
Federal architectural styles are normally symmetric which means they are equal on both sides. Most are normally two to three stories not including the basement. This style is reminiscent of the capital of the United States. It is also commonly made of brick or painted brick.
Greek Revival Greck revival architectural styles are mainly rectangular, and lighter in color. There are columns in the front by the doors in most designs you find.The roof is almost always in the shape of a pyramid.
Italinate
The Italianate style is most commonly build like a square box. Arches were also found in many places like the windows and doors. The flat roof mostly found is another way that the houses look extremely boxy.
Victorian
Victorian architectural style is commonly mistaken for a gingerbread style. The roofing often has very prestigious designed crowning at the top of the house. This style is also used to show off money and the wealth of the person living there.
Prairie The prairie style is like a camouflage style which means it somewhat blends into the area around. Lots of windows are commonly paired together and make up a large portion of the house
Craftsman
Ranch
Craftsmen are majorly different because they mix a lot of materials. You can find wood, stone, and cement in an architectural style like this. It is also very decorative which means you can find lots of different designs around the house.
The ranch style was most commonly bought in the 50s and 60s. Mostly used as a house for a family because it has a large yard for children to play in. Ranch style is always only one story or level.
Shed The architectural style of a shed style home is the most different from any other architectural style. The size of windows often vary in size and shape. The thing that stands out the most because of the roofs are different shapes and it looks like there are other buildings inside of the building but there isn’t.
A-Frame This specific architectural style looks just like a triangle and is mainly found in the mountains or a place that snows often. The reason for the shape is so that snow can easily fall off of it and not
build up. Most are made from wood resembling a
Geodesic
The geodesic style is a half circular dome shape that looks as if it is the shape of a turtle shell. It often resembles an igloo and is built to keep in heat. There is normally triangular windows on the roof of the building.
