ARCTIC PAINTING My paintings are rooted in the arctic nature. Not as depictions and abstractions, but as rhythms, movement and contrasts. They can be experienced as a micro-/macrocosmos, depending on the associations they give to the observer. Main inspiration source of my work is the habitat of snow, ice, mountain, the subtle changes of light and temperature, my own tactile experiences with the such, as well as the influence of education, other artists and crafts. The arctic nature emerged as a reality, as my family and I lived and worked nearby Tromsø in the North of Norway, from 1988 to 2010. I live and work in Norway. In the 80ies, after the Art Academy in Oslo, I was a member of the group Lambretta. The exhibitions contained both group installations as well as individual paintings of the group members. In the 90ies I worked as painter, as well as set designer in several theatre productions. During the decades my works have been exhibited throughout the country. The National Contemporary Museum, The Art Council and other institutions have my works in their collections.
