Michaelmas Term 2015 Christ’s Films is a student run cinema founded in 1978 as an alternative to expensive local cinemas. We show a wide range of films from cult classics to Hollywood Blockbusters and each screening is tailored to provide you with more than just a film screening. In collaboration with the Cambridge University Law Society, Christ’s Films brings you the classic, Twelve Angry Men. Directed by the late Sidney Lumet, 12 Angry Men tells the story of how one juror in a murder trial manages to convince the other men in the room, how the case is not as obvious as it seems.
Christ’s Films brings you the Reese Witherspoon comedy classic, Legally Blonde. When a sorority queen follows her ex-boyfriend to law school, she discovers that she may be more adept at the subject than she ever imagined. A hit that has since been turned into a successful stage show, Legally Blonde is a film that would be criminal to miss.
Sweet dreams

Set in Rwanda after the genocide of 1994, Sweet Dreams follows the lives of an all female drumming group who decide to set up an ice cream shop in their town after one of their main members returns from New York. director, this promises to be a fascinating evening at Christ’s Films.

A behind-the-scenes look at the trials and tribulations of an American Football club, Christ’s Films is giving you the chance to finally see that inspirational Al Pacino speech that pervades YouTube in context!
During the miner’s strike of the 1980s, gay activists, empathizing with the miners struggle, decide to give them their support. Last year Pride became a word of mouth critical and commercial hit, going on to win awards and be nominated for a Golden Globe. With Pitch Perfect 2 on the horizon, relive the instant cult classic and experience a pre-film performance by Pembroke’s a cappella group, Acapem. When Beca begrudgingly goes to Barden University, she ends up in the female a cappella group, the Barden Bellas. Initially reluctant, Beca inspires the group to reach new heights, and challenge their male counterparts, the Treblemakers.
