Our congregation extends its Christian love and sympathy to Beth Adams and her family upon the death of her grandfather, James Janney, who died on April 15th and to Garrett Stewart and his family upon the death of his mother, Lynda Mock Stewart, who died on April 17th.
Middle Highs – Tomorrow The Middle Highs will meet for our “Gospel Grill” tomorrow from 6:45 – 7:30 PM at Alex’s Grill / Ice Cream, 6750 Shallowford Rd., Lewisville. Invite a friend! Luncheon by Senior & Middle Highs – Next Sunday Next Sunday, April 30th, after our worship service, you’re invited to stay for a taco luncheon that will be provided by our Senior Highs and Middle Highs The luncheon is free, but donations are welcome to help support youth activities. Spring Golf Tournament – Saturday, May 13th The Arlen Lewis Memorial Spring Golf Tournament will be on Saturday, May 13th, at the Pilot Knob Park Golf Course in Pilot Mountain. The tournament is a four-person team captain’s choice event. The cost is $180 per team ($45 per person) and there are also opportunities for businesses or individuals to sponsor any of the eighteen holes at $100 per hole. If you are interested in playing or sponsoring a hole, please contact Doug Gordon (336.416.5797). Friends’ Circle – Dinner This Thursday, April 27th The Friends’ Circle will meet for dinner this Thursday, April 27th at 6:00 PM at the UMI Japanese Steakhouse Restaurant, 1280 Creekshire Way (off Hanes Mall Blvd., near Firebird’s Grill). Since it’s a hibachi grill and space is limited at the tables, you must contact Kathy Rights (336-922-5602) by noon this Wednesday, March 22nd if you can attend so she can make reservations.
Graduation Information – Due Sunday, May 21st We need the names of those graduating from high school and college. Please send the following information to the church office: high school graduates – (1) high school that they are graduating from; (2) will they be attending college, if so the college name and their major or what their plans for the future are. For college graduates – (1) College that they are graduating from, (2) list their full degree name and (3) their future plans. Graduation Information Forms are located at the church entrances. For all graduates, we need their full name along with both of their parents’ names or spouse’s names. Olivet Moravian’s Graduation Sunday is scheduled for May 28th. 2018 Southern Province Synod April 19-22, 2018 are the dates for our Provincial Synod, which will be held at Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC. Olivet is entitled to three (3) lay delegates. There will be a called Church Council on Sunday, May 21 after church to elect delegates. If you are interested in running for election to serve as a delegate, please see Pastor Matthew.
