CALL TO WORSHIP

MESSAGE

Bechler – 159 D Sing hallelujah, praise the Lord Sing with a cheerful voice; Exalt our God with one accord, And in His name rejoice: Ne’er cease to sing, thou ransomed host, Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Until in realms of endless light Your praises shall unite. There we to all eternity Shall join the angelic lays, And sing in perfect harmony To God our Saviour’s praise; He hath redeemed us by His blood, And made us kings and priests to God; For us, for us, the Lamb was slain: Praise ye the Lord! Amen. POSTLUDE

Covenant – 185 A Bless, O Lord, we pray, this congregation, Bless each home and family; Bless the youth, the rising generation, Bless the children dear to Thee: Bless Thy servants, grant them grace and unction, That they may with care discharge their function; Lord on Thee we humbly call, Let Thy blessing rest on all.

PRAYER, WELCOME, AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Berthelsdorf – 141 A Own Thy Congregation, O Thou slaughtered Lamb; We are here assembled In Thy holy Name; Look upon Thy people, Whom Thou by Thy blood Hast in love redeemed And brought nigh to God. Thou hast kindly led us For these many years; Ah, accept our praises And remove our fears; Grant us all the favor To obey Thy voice; Yea, what Thou directest, Be our only choice. St. Anne – 14 H O God our Help in ages past, Our Hope for years to come, Our shelter from the story blast And our eternal Home. Under the shadow of Thy throne, Still may we dwell secure; Sufficient is Thine arm alone, And our defense is sure. (Over)

BLESSING: Come, Lord Jesus, our guest to be; and bless these gifts bestowed by Thee. Bless Thy dear ones everywhere, and keep them in Thy loving care. Amen.

Before the hills in order stood, Or earth received her frame, From everlasting Thou art God, To endless years the same.

ANTHEMS Aurelia – 151 L The Church’s one Foundation is Jesus Christ, her Lord; She is His new creation by water and the Word; From heaven He came and sought her to be His holy Bride; With His own blood he bought her, and for her life He died.

A thousand ages in Thy sight, Are like an evening gone; Short as the watch that ends the night, Before the rising sun. Worship – 159 A Remembering what our fathers told Thou did’st in their young day, This solemn Jubilee we hold, That we, as then did they, Ourselves in covenant may bind, With soul and strength, with heart and mind, Through life, in death, on land, o’er sea, Meekly to follow Thee. Church Rejoice – 225 A Church, rejoice! Raise Thy voice, Sing Jehovah’s worthy praise; Extol His Name forever; Laud Him, our God and Saviour; Proclaim to every nation The tidings of salvation; Bear ye witness to His greatness; Spread the story of His glory To the earth’s remotest bounds. Church, unite for the right; Let thy foes behold thy stand, Rebuke them for their error; Inspire with hope and fervor; Declare the Saviour’s merit And how the Holy Spirit By His power, ev’ry hour, Will direct us and protect us In a world of sin and strife. Church, go forth o’er the earth; Christ, thy Head, has hallowed thee, A chosen Bride forever, Adorned for our Saviour; Be strong and be not cheerless, And may thy saints be fearless; In all places, with all races, May that story of His glory Be the hope of all the world.

Elect from every nation, yet one o’er all the earth, Her charter of salvation one Lord, one faith, one birth; One holy Name she blesses, partakes one holy food, And to one hope she presses with every grace endued. ‘Mid toil and tribulation and tumult of her war She waits the consummation of peace forevermore; Till with the vision glorious Her longing eyes are blest, And the great Church victorious shall be the Church at rest. Yet she on earth hath union with God, the three in One, And mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won; O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we Like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with Thee. OFFERTORY PRAYER AND ANTHEM Hayn – 82 D Jesus makes my heart rejoice, I’m His sheep and know His voice; He’s a Shepherd, kind and gracious, And His pastures are delicious; Constant love to me He shows, Yea, my very name He knows. Trusting His mild staff always, I go in and out in peace; He will feed me with the treasure Of His grace in richest measure; When athirst to Him I cry, Living water He’ll supply. Should not I for gladness leap, Led by Jesus as His sheep? For when these blest days are over, To the arms of my dear Saviour I shall be conveyed to rest: Amen, yea, my lot is blest.
