Youth Fellowship Begins – Today, 6:00 PM We begin a new year of Youth Fellowship with our Youth Fellowship Cookout today. This cookout is for all of our young people in the third grade through the twelfth grade and their friends. The cookout will begin at 6:00 PM and will be held in the Pavilion. Plan to attend and bring a friend! Christian Education Committee Meeting – Next Sunday The Christian Education Committee will meet next Sunday at 9:00 AM in the Parlor. Attention: College and Graduate School Attendees Please complete the College and Graduate School Attendees form and submit to the Church Office by September 9. The forms are located in the Narthex and at the Fellowship Hall entrance. Fall Golf Tournament -- Saturday, September 17 Our Men’s Fellowship will have its Fall Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 17, at 2:00 PM at the Pilot Knob Park Golf Course in Pilot Mountain. The tournament is a four-person team captain’s choice event and the cost is $180 per team ($45 per person). There are also opportunities for businesses or individuals to sponsor any of the eighteen holes at $100 per hole. Proceeds from this event will go to help with church projects. If you are interested in playing, sponsoring a hole or donating drinks, nabs, or chips, please contact Mike Handy (336.414.6455).
September Newsletters Are Available Our September newsletters are available for those who pick up their newsletter at the church. Portable Sewing Machines Needed!! Do you have a portable sewing machine that you are not using? Our sewing group is growing and we are in need of more machines. Olivet Youth Chorus -- Practices Begin Wednesday, September 7th This year we will be offering one choral singing opportunity for Olivet Youth. The Olivet Youth Chorus will begin rehearsals on Wednesday, September 7th. This group is for children entering the 2nd grade through the 12th grades. Rehearsals will be held each Wednesday from 6:45 PM - 7:15 PM in the Youth Chorus room. Amy Goodrich will accompany this group on the piano and I will direct them. You do not need choral singing experience to sing with us. Please plan to join us and help us make a joyful noise to the Lord! John Golden Children’s and Youth Handbell Groups -- Begin Wednesday, September 7 Our children’s and youth handbell groups will begin their practices on Wednesday, September 7. At this time, we’re looking to see who would like to play. The Moravian Star Ringers are for those in elementary school and middle school and their practice is at 5:30 p.m. The Morning Star Ringers are for those in high school and their practice is at 7:30 p.m. Each group is open to current and beginner bell ringers. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the groups' director, Doug Rights, at 336.408.1614. Also, please let Doug know if you're planning to play. Staff Evaluations The Personnel Committee will be doing staff evaluations soon and would like any input from the congregation.
