LAST SUNDAY AFTER THE EPIPHANY February 26, 2017

This morning we celebrate Boy Scout Sunday. Our church is very proud to help sponsor Boy Scout Troop 919 and Cub Scout Pack 919. We appreciate these scouts and those from other troops and packs who are with us today and those participating in our service. Besides those listed in our service, the Flag Color Guard and Ushers are members of Troop 919 and Pack 919. We hope you experience God’s blessing in your time with us today and throughout this week. We also hope you will return and worship with us again.

They yield $20. and all money collected will be for the Backpack Program at Old Town Elementary School. Please return by Easter Sunday. Safe Sanctuary Screenings – Next Sunday Due to Provincial directives, each congregation in the Southern Province has been charged with implementing a Safe Sanctuary Policy. This policy ensures the safety of children, youth and vulnerable adults in our congregation. As part of the Safe Sanctuary Policy, anyone who works with children/youth (other than Provincial employees and those who already had a screening in order to work at Laurel Ridge) will need to have a screening. This includes all Nursery volunteers, Children’s Church volunteers, Sunday School Teachers, Youth Workers, Youth Choir/Handbell Directors…anyone who works with kids. Unfortunately, the results of screenings that school teachers have already done are not available to us, so we must do another one. Gary Stilley will be at Olivet next Sunday after the worship service to conduct the Safe Sanctuary Screenings. Gary coming to Olivet will save everyone from going downtown to have their screening. Any questions, please contact Evie Blum Lenten Family Nights Begin Next Sunday Lent is a time leading up to Easter for reflection and penitence in reverence to the Savior who died for us.
