Missions Item of the Month for June During the month of June, we will collect items for the Seeds of Hope Camp. We are collecting small bottles of water and small bottles of sports drinks. Additionally, we are collecting small stuffed animals. Seeds of Hope is a Christian-based camp for foster, adopted, and other vulnerable children. The camp operates for three weeks this summer. Please help with this need. Looking for Musical Talent It is time for the choir to take a “vacation” in the month of July. We are looking for church members of all ages to provide music for our worship service. If you are interested or would like to make a special request, please contact John Golden (336-924-1460 or jgolden961@triad.rr.com ). Our Administrative Assistant Away Our Administrative Assistant, Kandis Fox is out of the office through this Wednesday, June 28th. Office volunteers will be in the office a few hours daily to answer the phone. Sunnyside Ministry Needs Bag Dinners for VBS Sunnyside Ministry is excited to announce that we are hosting Vacation Bible School July 17th – July, 21st, 2017, 4:00--7:00 PM for children from the community. The theme for the week is Joy of Jesus! Everywhere! All the Time! We will focus on serving Latino Children who have completed grades 3 and 4, and the lessons will be taught in English. We need your help: we need volunteer groups to prepare enough bag dinners, to feed about 35 children and VBS leaders. We need assistant teachers and volunteers to help with crafts and music. July 4th, 7:30 PM, Salem Band Stars and Stripes Concert: Honoring veterans in our community with music of Big Bands, Battle Hymn, the Armed Forces, and marches. Don’t miss Salem Band piccolo soloist Trisha Tuttle performing “Through the Air.” And of course, “Stars & Stripes Forever.” All concerts FREE in Salem Square, Old Salem.
