A Mother’s Day Donation A donation will be given to Senior Services in honor of and in memory of all of our mothers. Special Mother’s Day Offering for Salemtowne Today you may donate a special Mother’s Day Offering for Salemtowne. This year’s offering will go toward their Financial Assistance Fund for residents who have financial needs. Special Offering envelopes are located in the Narthex. Senior Friends – This Wednesday, May 17th The Senior Friends will meet at 10:30 AM this Wednesday, May 17th and play Bingo. Please sign up on the Senior Friends’ Bulletin Board outside of the Library, so we will know how many pizzas we need. Newsletter Deadline – This Friday, May 19th If you have information that needs to be included in the June issue of The Olivet Reporter please have it in the church office no later than Friday, May 19th. Men’s Breakfast –Next Sunday, May 21st The Men’s Breakfast will be next Sunday, May 21st at 8:30 AM. All men and any guests are welcome to attend. Graduation Information – Due Next Sunday, May 21st We need the names of those graduating from high school and college. Please send the following information to the church office: high school graduates – (1) high school that they are graduating from; (2) will they be attending college, if so the college name and their major or what their plans for the future are. For college graduates – (1) College that they are graduating from, (2) list their full degree name and (3) their future plans. Graduation Information Forms are located at the church entrances. For all graduates, we need their full name along with both of their parents’ names or spouse’s names. Olivet Moravian’s Graduation Sunday is scheduled for May 28th.
Called Church Council – Next Sunday, May 21st April 19-22, 2018 are the dates for our Provincial Synod, which will be held at Blue Ridge Assembly in Black Mountain, NC. Olivet is entitled to three (3) lay delegates. There will be a called Church Council next Sunday, May 21st after church to elect delegates. If you are interested in running for election to serve as a delegate, please see Pastor Matthew. If you nominate someone, please make sure they are willing to be nominated. So far, Winfield Beroth, Alina Cukiernik, David Johnson and Loretta Whitt are running for election to serve as a delegate. Moravian Music Foundation 50-Year Pins Next Sunday, Olivet would like to recognize the musicians of our congregation who have given 50 or more years of service by presenting them with the special Moravian Music Foundation 50-Year Pin. We want to include everyone and not leave anyone out. We are going to do our very best to make sure every eligible musician is recognized, so we need your help with this. If you or someone you know has been a musician for at least 50 years, it is very important that you let Pastor Matthew know soon. Missions – May Project, Tuesday, May 23rd The Missions May Project is the Ronald McDonald House. We will meet at the church at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 23rd, or you can meet us there at 5:30 PM. Missions – Item of the Month The Item of the Month is single-serve snacks and breakfast items and needs to be at the church by next Sunday, May 21st. Girl Scouts Yard Sale / Vendor Sale / Car Wash Saturday May 27th, 8 AM--1 PM Girl Scouts Senior Troop #40223 are having a Yard Sale / Vendor Sale / Car Wash at Olivet on Saturday, May 27th, 8 AM – 1 PM. They are selling spaces for Yard Sale and Vendor participants for $20 for 1 space. If you need for them to provide an 8-foot table for you, the tables rent for $5 each. They will also have a Car Wash.
