Olivet Youth Chorus -- Practice Begins This Wednesday This year we will be offering one choral singing opportunity for Olivet Youth. The Olivet Youth Chorus will begin rehearsals this Wednesday, September 7. This group is for children entering the 2nd grade through the 12th grades. Rehearsals will be held each Wednesday from 6:45 PM - 7:15 PM in the Youth Chorus room. Amy Goodrich will accompany this group on the piano and I will direct them. You do not need choral singing experience to sing with us. Please plan to join us and help us make a joyful noise to the Lord! John Golden Children’s and Youth Handbell Groups – Practice Begins This Wednesday Our children’s and youth handbell groups will begin their practices this Wednesday, September 7. At this time, we’re looking to see who would like to play. The Moravian Star Ringers are for those in elementary school and middle school and their practice is at 5:30 p.m. The Morning Star Ringers are for those in high school and their practice is at 7:30 p.m. Each group is open to current and beginner bell ringers. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact the groups' director, Doug Rights, at 336.408.1614. Also, please let Doug know if you're planning to play. College and Graduate School Attendees Forms Due This Friday Please complete the College and Graduate School Attendees form and submit to the Church Office by this Friday, September 9. The forms are located in the Narthex and at the Fellowship Hall entrance. Portable Sewing Machines Needed!! Do you have a portable sewing machine that you are not using? Women’s Bible Study -- Tuesday, September 13 The Women’s Bible Study will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday, September 13 in the Church Parlor. We will be discussing Chapter 24 on “Phoebe and Priscilla", beginning on page 279. It is hard to believe this is the final chapter of our two-year study of Dynamic Women of the Bible. We hope to see many of you! It’s Time to Make Some Chicken Pies! -- Wednesday, September 14 Come join us to make some Moravian Chicken Pies and fellowship with us at 8:30 AM on Wednesday, September 14. Adult Bible Study – Wednesday, September 14 Adult Bible Study will resume on Wednesday, September 14 at 6:30 PM in the Parlor. The study will be on the 12 disciples. Come join us! Fall Golf Tournament -- Saturday, September 17 Our Men’s Fellowship will have its Fall Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 17, at 2:00 PM at the Pilot Knob Park Golf Course in Pilot Mountain. The tournament is a four-person team captain’s choice event and the cost is $180 per team ($45 per person). There are also opportunities for businesses or individuals to sponsor any of the eighteen holes at $100 per hole. Proceeds from this event will go to help with church projects. If you are interested in playing, sponsoring a hole or donating drinks, nabs, or chips, please contact Mike Handy on his new mobile number (336.688.8903). Men’s Breakfast — Sunday, September 18 The Men’s Breakfast will be Sunday, September 18 at 8:30 AM. All men of the church and guests invited. Senior Friends – Wednesday, September 21 The Senior Friends will fellowship together and share some of their summer memories at 10:30 AM Wednesday, September 21. A light lunch will be served. Please sign up on the Senior Friends’ Bulletin Board outside of the Library, so we will know how many to prepare lunch for.
