President’s Message Hey all! October and November have been super busy months where we had a lot of events, big and small. Regardless of the size of the event, I am so proud of each and every member for serving with all of their heart. Starting in October where we volunteered at a variety of fall carnivals, we were able to make an impact on our community and bring smiles wherever we volunteered. At this year’s Fall Rally South our club cheered and showed off our spirit to our entire district. We did not just cheer—we helped raise over $10,000.00 for the Pediatric Trauma Program. Later in the month our club volunteered at the Super Hero Dash despite the pouring rain and the freezing temperatures. I am extremely thankful to have the opportunity to serve such amazing members! It is not the number of members or the events that we participate in, but the hearts of each member that truly make our club truly extraordinary. Thank you for all your hard work! Let’s keep it up for next month as well.

Editor’s Message Hey Cuties! Wow, this school year has been going by so quickly! RTC and Fall Rally are already over :( , but at least we have a lot of service events to look forward to! Also… DCON! MONTH

Richard Campbell Richard Campbell has always been an enthusiastic member of Key Club, but his enthusiasm truly shined at the Super Hero Dash this month. On the day of the Super Hero Dash it was pouring rain and the temperatures were nearly freezing. Despite the less than stellar weather Richie did not utter a word of complaint. No “it so cold” or “I can’t believe it’s raining so hard.” Instead, he just talked about how cool the event was and how happy he was to be there. In the pouring rain Richie cheered on all of the runners and did not stop despite the lowering temperatures. He even led some super hero cheers within our club. His excitement inspired other members, and he made this event better with just his spirit.

FALL RALLY

SOUTH

Fall Rally South HARLEY ZHU // SOPHOMORE While everyone was catching up on their sleep, hundreds if not thousands of key clubbers were getting fired up for Fall Rally South! It was an amazing experience to go to California and spend the day with so many key clubbers. The long day consisted of good friends, long lines, and a lot of spirit! It was such a cool experience to see so many key clubbers from different areas such as San Diego and Los Angeles. Each and every one of these key clubbers were extremely enthusiastic about key club and service! I really hope we inspired some people at Six Flags to be involved in key club as well. I also really enjoyed the long ride to and from Fall Rally South as I was able to bond much more closely with my friends. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity to go to Fall Rally South as I was able to meet so many new friends and create closer bonds with old ones. Fall Rally South has made me that much more enthusiastic about key club and service. At Fall Rally South, I learned so much more about what key club has done for others such as saving lives and helping to cure diseases. It was great to see how the hours of service each key clubber contributes adds up so quickly to make a difference in the world.

November Articles SUPERHERO DASH // Holly wong The Superhero Dash was really fun despite the harsh rainy weather that day. Seeing people run in the cold with their superhero costumes still on and cheering with my key club family warmed me up inside. The cold weather didn't bother me at all because I had key clubbers to keep me company. I could see the smile on the runners' faces when we cheered for them, especially the little kids. In the end, we won the most spirited award! I think we really made Anna proud and I was glad to be a part of that spirit! I would definitely recommend this event to everyone.

Ronald mcdonald house // Olivia b. This was my first time volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House. Although some members didn’t show up, our group of Asian girls (plus Mimi) successfully cooked an amazing meal. This event requires a lot of work; you’re never just standing around. Despite the amount of work, it is a very fun event and it’s very rewarding to see the families enjoying our meals. Our menu was kind of confusing; it consisted of sandwiches, Asian food, cookies and pumpkin pie… yum.

November Articles S.a.f.e. House run // Jillian Although some Key Clubbers are opposed to waking up early for events on a Saturday, S.A.F.E. House’s Annual Run for Shelter was definitely an event that truly helped the community in ways well worth it. S.A.F.E. House is an emergency shelter and provider for victims of domestic violence, and our humble service efforts helped to raise awareness and funds for the shelter. Encouraging the runners and helping at this event was not only a great way to start off the morning with smiles, but a motivational experience for everyone supporting the cause to protect victims of domestic violence and preventing the crime itself. I would highly recommend for high schoolers to get involved with small events around the valley like this one, because little things make up the big picture of our Las Vegas area and help shape our city to become a better place!
