Oregon does and it is just as Oregonian as timber, beer and rain. Oregon is taking proper advantage to build an industry of products for the 21st century Information Age! For Oregon s outside-of-thebox, we do things different here culture – a hybrid of high-technology and advertising businesses with political radicals, cultural creatives and old-fashioned story-tellers – this means one thing: an Entertainment Industry. Just like with music, food and beer, independent film, television and webisode production captures the creative and business aspirations of Oregon s famously over-educated, underemployed, largely young and professional creative class. Add to this the Democratization of marketing and distributing digital content with extremely lucrative opportunities in the global market for digital media, video games and mobile applications, and the pipedream of local auteurs and hipster dandies starts to become a feeding frenzy of high-growth investment opportunities. Or so we imagine...
On any given weekend in garages and vacant properties around the state, you will likely find ambitious directors and producers aligning the incredible pool of writers, actors, animators, production and post-production people to realize projects, many of which actually see the light of day on computer screens, televisions, and even in theatres across America and around the world.
