REINCARNATION — DEFINITIONS, ORIGINS , AND CHARACTERISTICS
According to metaphysic studies, we are beings of matter and spirit. A portion of a sentient being can exist after our physical body's death, which may be called spirit, soul, or consciousness. The death of the physical body does not demand the death of the soul. It can successfully associate with other bodies for specific purposes, such as for greater self-knowledge, evolution or to annul karma.
Many people think they know reincarnation is when the soul leaves a body that has passed away and incarnates in another that has just been born. But the meaning of reincarnation is much greater than that. It has been studied for thousands of years and is the central idea of many philosophical and religious systems. Learn a little more about reincarnation below.
Herodotus, Greek historian of the 5 th century BC. C. was perhaps the first scholar to document concepts of reincarnation. According to him, reincarnation is part of the Egyptian doctrine, which states that reincarnation occurs exactly at the moment of physical death, that the body reincarnated into a being that was being born, which could be a creature of earth, water, or air. According to Egyptian wisdom, all souls traversed all spectrum of sentience in a journey of 3,000 years.
Pythagoras, a Greek philosopher, and mathematician born in 570 BC., also defends with a philosophical character the logic of reincarnation that today is the basis for several modern religions and philosophies. Resurrection is the key element that connects and is part of the religions of Ancient Egypt, Hinduism, Buddhism, the Cult of Tradition to the Orixás (African), Indigenous Cults, Jewish Kabbalah, Spiritualism, and its dissidents.
Children And Reincarnation
Reincarnation in children should not be seen as mere chance. When a baby is born into a family, those parents are chosen to welcome that spirit. Everything they've been through so far and what they'll still go through happened with a purpose that, most of the time, is not immediately identified.
Seeing reincarnation in children with a view of wisdom is the opportunity to be even more grateful for them. We think we chose them, who decided when they should be born, but they, still in spirit form, chose us for who we are. So, although we often question ourselves when we are parents, we have exactly what they need.
HOW DO REINCARNATION MEMORIES HAPPEN IN CHILDREN?
"For the first forty days, a child is given dreams of previous lives. Then, journeys, winding paths, a hundred small lessons, and then the past is erased."
― Michael Ondaatje, Handwriting
Whenever we think of reincarnation in children, we must be aware that it is a planned phenomenon. The qualities and defects of the mother and father are decisive for them to be chosen to receive the spirit in this new life. All the experiences they will provide, the good and the bad, are fundamental for this to make the path it needs to evolve. It is the family that will give him the tools so that he can exercise his skills and fulfill his mission.
The belief that babies are born completely devoid of knowledge and that they learn everything only after birth is very common. This thought could not be more wrong. Still in the womb, they receive their mother's vibrations, which directly influence the repertoire they begin to form. The first memories are a mix of uterine life records with information from past lives. That is, we should never disregard this background. Reincarnation in children only proves that we are all old souls living in new bodies. For this reason, we should not make them too childish or discredit what they tell us. The soul that that little body houses has a lot of history.
Memories Of Past Lives
During the first few years of life, we are most likely to remember our past. The various reports found about reincarnation in children are precise because they remember and can communicate experiences that they lived before. In some cases, they even tell how they disincarnated. However, this information does not always come clearly. Many times it is not even verbalized and goes unnoticed. A small gesture, a habit, a grimace, or an unexplained fear are examples of things that we look for in our "data bank of past lives."
As much as reincarnation has been studied through the ages, long before Christ, no concrete scientific evidence guarantees its existence. Nevertheless, there are several pieces of evidence, such as the study done by the psychiatrist Dr. Ian Stevenson, University of Virginia, United States. He collected data for 40 years on more than 3000 cases that evidence reincarnation worldwide with very expressive results, all done with children. The studies were carried out with children, as it is at this age (between 2 and 6 years) that the greatest evidence and case histories of reincarnation appear. When the story told by the child about his past life is not taken seriously, the child forgets, or the brain blocks these memories.
