Be mindful of where you leave your valuables Just a reminder to lock all mobile phones, handbags and other personal belongings away — do not leave them on top of, behind and under your shop counter. Leaving them behind the counter makes them a very easy target for thieves — don’t be the next victim of crime, lock them away. Thieves often work in groups, one will distract you and the other will go straight to the counter to get your valuables, especially your mobile phone.

Large number of Police in Onehunga town centre
21 November,2013
You may have noticed a large number of police officers in the area this week, some of them may have spoken to you. Call Onehunga Town Centre’s Security Guard
They are in the area as part of nationwide strategy to reduce property crime through prevention—this means they are out in the community talking to business owners (you) to find out your concerns and helping you to prevent crime— this may be through improving the sight lines in your shop, keeping valuable products in close view.

Check the area around the sensors is clear from dust, curtains, any air conditioning or fan equipment and any other items that might move and trigger a false alarm.
