Warwick Wheels Launch Event Saturday 9th May 1-3 pm, at the Addy A special guest appearance will be made by Mick Brown - current Yorkshire’s Strongest Man - who will attempt to pull the bus in a classic World’s strongest man event. Warwick Wheels getting off to a flying start. Funded by Warwick Ahead and Metro, the Warwick Wheels Community Transport scheme is operated by Osgoldcross Forum and our aim is to provide low cost, disabled accessible transport for local groups and residents to key amenities in the area. From Monday April 13th, the service will initially operate to the following timetable: Monday: 9.30 am. Knottingley Morrisons .........................£1 Return Wednesday: 9.30 am Pontefract Market ..........................£1.50 Return Friday: 9.30 am Castleford Junction 32 Retail Park..................£2.50 Return The service will pick up at Cherry Tree Bungalows and Pinewood Place. However if you have mobility issues, a home pick up can be arranged. The scheme is operated under a Section 19 permit, where membership is essential. An annual membership for Individuals is £5 and Community Groups: £20. The membership will entitle the member to go on any Warwick Wheels service.
Helen Bullock is the Transport Co-ordinator and she’ll be in Warwick Community Shop, Pinewood Place, every Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30am to answer any questions and sign up members. If you find it hard to get out and about to sign up, please contact Helen who will be happy to arrange a home visit. To help expand the services the project is looking to recruit volunteer drivers.
