Evaluation While researching Cezanne I learnt about the source of modern art, which I will study further. I learnt about qualities, mainly tension and how to express it. I feel more sure, after all these drawings, that chalk pastels and charcoal really is the medium I am most comfortable with. My precision and control improve with each drawing, and I encounter numerous tricks and discoveries – from different ways to blend color to useful tools and a better understanding of composition. I enjoyed the freedom, which allowed me to pursue and stay loyal to my ideas and style. Some things turned out better then I expected, like the slingshot and the beam of light on the arrow in the banana leaf. Siddick Nuckcheddy does incredible chalk pastel drawings and also teaches classes. I have a lot more to learn about application and would love to attend some lessons. I should practice working faster and be more methodical with the order of things. Because I didn’t do much with acrylic, I should learn more about it and watercolor My study of tension will continue, and I will see where it leads. I haven’t yet decided on a specific university but I know that attending one, weather physical or online, will help me in the future.
