a note from the
Publisher Welcome to ON Magazine’s 2021 Fashion Issue. I was fortunate enough to sit down with American Patriot Jake Newbold, 20 year Navy SEAL and CEO of Trident1. I enjoyed learning more about Jake, the SEALS, and Trident1, and I know that you will, too. It’s always in fashion to support non-profits. In this issue, we’re honored to promote the first annual Frisco Charity Car Show. ON’s cover image and feature were shot on location at Careington’s new DialCare facility in Frisco and give a glimpse of the amazing collection of cars that will be featured at the car show in May. We also feature a new service from Toyota. Toyota Subscribe + Drive provides all the benefits of car ownership with none of the hassles. Come in with pain, Walk out without it. It’s that simple.
See if you’re a candidate for endoscopic spine surgery. Endoscopic spine surgery is a technologically advanced, ultra-minimally invasive treatment for pain in the legs, buttock, and groin. If you are one of the many who deal with such pain, then this innovative procedure may provide a path to lasting relief – without the physical impact, lengthy recovery time, and significant scarring associated with traditional spine surgery. In fact, most patients are comfortably home within hours of surgery. To find out if you’re a candidate, take our free online assessment or contact our patient navigator at 972-543-1250.

DRIVING MADE EASY with TOYOTA SUBSCRIBE + DRIVE

photos by ANGELA JESULAITIS
ost of us in North Texas need a reliable vehicle. Everything truly is bigger in Texas, and whether it is commuting to work, getting kids to school, running errands and shopping, going out for a night on the town, or visiting family and friends – there is probably going to be a drive involved. The stress and complexity of traditional car ownership adds up quickly: Insurance, registration, inspections, stickers, license plates, maintenance, tires, brakes, significant repairs, and deciding when to trade for a newer vehicle. Once you decide to get a new vehicle, there are decisions on whether to buy or lease, price negotiations and how long of a financial commitment to make. It is not uncommon to see 72 or 84-month purchase contracts. Not everyone is up for the hassle. Plus, what if a purchase or lease just does not fit your changing circumstances? Introducing Toyota Subscribe + Drive, the flexible and allinclusive subscription powered by Toyota. It is Driving Made Easy. In an age when everyday life has been made simpler by subscription-based services that deliver daily necessities and entertainment, maybe it’s time to apply that model to transportation. Toyota’s Subscribe + Drive vehicle

subscription service takes convenience to the next level by simplifying the driving experience. With this new program, members can enjoy all the benefits of driving without the hassle of owning and maintaining a car. Perfect for anyone whose life is too hectic and frequently finds themselves short on time, the program is also great for families when transportation needs shift. Whether it’s due to returning college students or extended visits, older drivers only in town for the season, busy executives who anticipate or experience frequent relocations, or any business professional with temporary transportation needs, Toyota Subscribe + Drive suits a wide array of situations. “Toyota Subscribe+Drive has been an absolute dream! During the initial height of the pandemic, my family and I found ourselves without a vehicle. Within a day, we had a vehicle in our driveway ready to go. It was amazingly convenient, affordable, and beyond what I ever imagined it to be. Thank you so much for offering such a fantastic service!” - Cassandra Judd
The Subscribe + Drive program is an ideal alternative to purchasing or leasing a car because it offers flexibility and convenience. With no long-term commitment, a one-time joining fee, and 60-day membership plans, Toyota has covered all the bases to provide a truly all-inclusive experience. Insurance, routine maintenance, and registration are all covered under one simple monthly
fee. Rather than being locked into a single vehicle choice for years, this subscription service allows drivers to try out a variety of Toyota’s offerings, from the sleek new Camry to the family-friendly Sequoia. Not sure if you want a sedan or SUV? This is a great way to try them all and find what works best for you. Signing up only takes a few minutes. Download the phone app, apply, and choose the vehicle that meets your needs. The exemplary digital concierge service is available by text to answer any questions as they arise. Schedule a dropoff time, and your concierge will handle the confirmation and details to craft a seamless at-home delivery. “I am now in my second month with Subscribe+Drive and could not be happier. It was incredibly easy to sign up using the app and, knowing I never have to worry about maintenance or insurance gives me tremendous peace of mind. Highly recommend that everyone consider this option.” - Andrea

NFM Design Gallery Kay Meyers, Interior Designer by CARRIE TEMPLE
|
photos by JIM MOSS
am Kay Meyers, certified Interior Designer at The Design Gallery at NFM. I’ve practiced interior design for too many years to assign a year to, but experience and opportunity abound in my professional career. I have been with NFM for six years. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from Texas Tech University, where dreams of travel and design developed into a passion. I have worked in different areas of Texas, other states, and internationally in France and The Cayman Islands, experiencing diverse lifestyles and cultures and preferences, and product availability. I love being a designer and working with people. It truly is rewarding in many aspects, personally and professionally. My father asked me a simple question when I announced I was going to major in art/interior design. “How are you going to earn a living?”. My answer was that I would manage. I am not famous or rich, but rather rich from experience. I am rewarded in this inspiring career, and learning never stops.
30 | ON magazine | Fashion 2021
What services does the Design Gallery offer? Can you walk us through a typical consultation? The NFM Design Gallery offers in-store services and in-home consultations both by appointment. In both situations, we create floor plans, color palettes, inspirational powerpoints, window and floor treatments, lighting, and budget and future plans with clients. Designers are very visual in their creative process, which makes a visit to the site inspiring. I discuss the use of the spaces, budget, traffic patterns, client expectation of space or product, and future projection as I focus on creating a space for the client using resources and experience to guide the direction of a project.
Since people are spending more time at home, what are more clients looking for? How are people living differently at home? What are a few tricks to making a space more livable and enjoyable? 2020 forced people to make changes in their homes for work, play, privacy, and space use. This has continued to influence home renovations, some minor adjustments and others very drastic. Function initiated some changes, and the neglect of projects to update or replace furnishings pushed the process through many rooms. Privacy in work and study areas are needed in every home, but this is the human refuge from the world for relaxing and playing. Easy maintenance for all parts of a space remains a priority, and the many additions of high-performance fabrics aided easy care. I have suggested changes of purpose for rooms and helped clients plan the change and resource furnishings. Paint is an amazing update for any space. As a designer, I often communicate and create a scenario for clients to follow to achieve their dream and needed changes.
NFM flows with the introduction of new home furnishings in the latest styles and sustainable products. It truly is a fashion industry! What are some of the most important factors to consider when redesigning a space? I continue to design and redesign spaces for clients as 2021 marches on. I truly believe the old adage of form follows function. Creating any space for clients is learning the function that it must serve, and the design will take form. The people using the room are the most crucial factor with function and inspired aesthetics. The proportions of the space must meet those needs and be easily maintained. However, clients’ input of their preferences and budget factors is a significant part of creating the room they deserve and desire. What are a few long-lasting brands and items that you would recommend for a timeless family room? NFM offers Heirloom Quality furnishing along with Fashion Statement furniture. Stickley Furniture is known for solid wood bedroom and dining furniture.
What are a few of the biggest interior design trends of 2021? What are you seeing clients move away from? I often visit other stores, market places, or just open houses for inspiring myself and researching the change in colors, fabrics, wood tones, and new unique pieces of furniture and accessories. The trend appears to be moving to warmer tones away from all gray and blue tones. Gray is shown with warmer, brighter colors such as yellows/gold, even red is creeping in, and wood tones are somewhat lighter and natural. The internet offers reading material about sources and trends, but a classic like myself also indulges in magazines and visual stimulation to be inspired. Furniture structure turned to simple straight lines remain in trend; however, some softer rounding of chairs, tables, and curving of sofas are present.
The tradition of Arts and Crafts remains strong for the collectors and people who appreciate beautiful wood products. Introductions of Modern and Mid-Century collections are currently creating new admirers of the long-time manufacturer in New York. f you aren’t familiar with the “Home of the Blues” city of Memphis, you may think Beale Street is just another street. But, oh, how wrong that statement would be. Like Bourbon Street in New Orleans and Broadway in Nashville, Beale Street is the heartbeat of the city, offering a walkway lined with bars, nightlife, and restaurants with live music that seem to just naturally lure you in. And along most of these famed streets, you can find a hotel or two. It wasn’t until 38 | ON magazine | Fashion 2021

April 2021 that Beale Street welcomed its first hotel and a phenomenal one at that. Soaring eight stories high and located on prime real estate along the riverfront, Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis made history as the first hotel with a Beale Street address. The hotel is the area’s newest social hub for travelers seeking a home base in the heart of the action within the Entertainment District and beyond. The pet-friendly hotel features sleek,
modern interiors with vibrant colors, textures, and décor that reflect the spirit and energy of Memphis. As guests explore the hotel, they’ll notice artful touches that pay homage to the city’s rich music culture, including hallway carpets with patterns that mimic soundwaves and light fixtures that resemble treble clef notes. The hotel’s 227 guest rooms, which include 12 suites, feature a neutral color palette, leather headboards, shower walls etched with names and sights signature
The hotel adds more feathers to its cap with an impressive list of ‘firsts’ and ‘onlys,’ including the only resort-style pool in the downtown area, as well as the only riverfront restaurant and only rooftop riverfront bar. Ellis and Sons Ironworks and Machine Shop (now meeting space for the hotel) is also brought into the lobby’s check-in pods, which are locally created using parts and materials from the original shop machinery. Nods to the Ironworks building can also be spotted in-room, with wallpaper made from images of original materials from the building.
After soaking in the sun, head up to the property’s crown jewel, Beck & Call. The rooftop whiskey bar features a beverage program artfully centered around a curated collection of whiskeys and bourbons while also offering other local selections, including craft beer from Memphis’ Wiseacre Brewing and some spirits from Old Dominik just a few blocks up the road. Whether you take it neat or on the rocks, order up a bourbon and set your sights on the breathtaking view. ON OUR TROOPS
I
had the privilege to speak with Jake Newbold, a 20-year US Navy SEAL Veteran and the CEO of Trident 1, a company that provides an omnichannel software point of sale system for gun stores and ranges. After Jake retired in 2017, he entered the civilian workforce at JP Morgan Chase before being scouted by Mr. Gatewood of Park Ten Capital as the CEO of the emerging company, Trident 1. We spoke about his time as a SEAL leader and instructor and the transition into being a successful CEO. I thought to myself, of course he’s been a success. This guy led a team of approximately 110 people in Afghanistan during the tumultuous time when troops were being withdrawn, and attacks by the Taliban were increasing. His Platoon was under daily attacks, yet he still did not lose a single person. If he can manage all of that with success, the everyday workplace must be a piece of cake. I asked about the transition from military retirement into the business world. “It’s a big change,” he said, “but being a Navy SEAL is a young man’s game. SEALs need to prepare for being done ahead of time, and guys need to start prepping 3 - 5 years out.” Hence Jake’s two MBAs and a great job offer a year before retirement. “You have to shift focus largely on yourself as you prepare for transitioning out of the military, which goes against the SEAL team mentality of the team always comes first, so it’s different.” And being a SEAL with the ultimate team member mentality, Jake acknowledges he is very blessed by the opportunities he has been given from his network and gracious that people have helped. He wants to pay it forward and watch his Team and employees at Trident 1 grow. While speaking to Jake, it was clear that not only are SEALs true warriors, they’re brilliant, as well. Over 50% of Navy SEALs have graduate degrees. There’s considerable interest in becoming a SEAL, buoyed by the portrayal of SEALs in movies, video games, and the historic Bin Laden raid. The problem for those interested in becoming a SEAL is there are a lot more people applying to be accepted into training nowadays, but only minimal slots available. If you have two candidates with the same physical abilities

and scores, academics and studies now very well could be the tiebreaker. It was interesting to hear Jake say that if he is out in public, he can easily spot another SEAL and asks, “Which team were you on?” It is a very tight group, a brotherhood, where no man is ever left behind, in life and death. After seeing and meeting with Jake, one thing I notice about SEALs is the look in their eyes. You can tell they have seen some things, and all are superior athletes, determined, and highly skilled. Jake mentioned one deployment to the jungle when they were told to pack for seven days. Before heading out, the plan changed, and they were instructed to pack for ten. Twentynine days later, and Jake and the other guys being 40 pounds lighter, they were extracted from the operation. Not many are able to endure the rigorous life of a SEAL. Still, Jake flourished and was the recipient of numerous service awards and decorations, including the Bronze Star Medal with a combat “V” device for distinguished valor. Tell us about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get your start in the military? I grew up in a rural town in Ohio, raised by a single mother, and had a very humble upbringing. I have two brothers who are also Navy SEALs. I am the middle one. The SEAL Teams is a pretty small community, so if you say my last name to someone in the Teams, chances are they know either one of my brothers or me. It makes for a good family reunion.
I joined the Navy one month after graduating high school and turning 18. Twenty years later – after leading well over 300 combat operations throughout eight different deployments to the Middle East and Latin America, I retired in 2017. I live in Dallas with my wife and two sons (7 & 9) and spend my days mentoring my boys every chance I get and supporting the brotherhood through the SEAL Legacy Foundation while being blessed to have the opportunity to lead the Trident 1 Team within the booming firearms industry. Tell us about the SEAL Legacy Foundation and your work on the Board of Directors: On August 6, 2011 – In the Wardak Province of Afghanistan, a group of Navy SEALs was flying in on a CH-47 Chinook on a Quick Reactionary Force (QRF) mission to rescue some Army Rangers who were pinned down by the Taliban. The operation was named Extortion 17. Upon insert, a 12-year-old boy raised an SA-7 RPG and shot the helicopter out of the sky. 31 souls perished that night, including 17 SEALs, one of which happened to be my very best friend in the world, Chief Petty Officer Kevin Houston. This event instantly changed my life as I spent the next year or so going to and speaking at memorials, funerals, etc. At one of the dozens of memorials, my first Platoon Commander who had been off of Active Duty for a few years, was working in the Reserves and was then living in Austin,
approached me and told me he was starting a non-profit and wanted me to be a part of it for Kevin and the boys, along with other fellow Teammates, Shawn Johnson and Jonny Dalton. All four of us were in my first Platoon together with Kevin back around 2000 at SEAL Team FOUR. From that day forward, we literally went from having the concept to getting IRS approval to holding our first event right here in Dallas and raising $350K in three months! SEALs have a legacy of never leaving a man behind, dead or alive, throughout our over 55 years of existence. The SLF seeks to extend that legacy long after the battlefield and ensure that SEALs are never left behind, from the cradle to the grave. We have grown every year since then and to date have given more than $10mm to support Navy SEALs (active, reserves, retired, ON magazine | Fashion 2021 | 45
ON OUR TROOPS or former… as long as we can vet that they were actually SEALs) and their families who have a financial or other need. We are a small board “started by SEALs, run by SEALs, to support SEALs” and this allows us to react quickly to any grant requests we receive. We are honored to have received the highest award level, at the Platinum level, from the leading non-profit rating agency, GuideStar. About $0.96 of every dollar raised goes to the actual cause, and we are so very proud of this. The Foundation focuses largely on five main pillars: • Our Individual Grants Program (basically if a SEAL or their family is in need and has a financial burden and we can vet the need… we will cover it). • Our Scholarships Program (we provide annual scholarships to SEALs and their dependents) • Home Base TBI Partnership (provide approximately $250k a year in partnership with Home Base, one of the leading treatment facilities of Traumatic Brain Injury and PTSD… to send SEALs and their families to receive life-changing treatment at a World Class Facility) • Surviving Family Support (Since 911, SEALs have lost over 120 warriors due to Combat, Training, or related injuries. They have left behind hundreds of dependents that have lost their primary breadwinner, and we are proud to provide assistance for these Gold Star families whenever needed) • Our Guardian Program (the SLF is blessed to have developed a unique network of some of the most philanthropic patriots in the Nation.) Sometimes we have to utilize this network to assist SEALs/their families in unique ways other than financial support. (e.g., a SEAL has a parachuting accident on a training trip and breaks dozens of bones, needing immediate airlift to a qualified level one trauma center but is too injured to fly commercial. We make one phone call and have a donor’s private jet sent to retrieve him, along with a SEAL Corpsman and the operator’s wife, and have him comfortably transported to the facility, which provides him the critical treatment he needs). 46 | ON magazine | Fashion 2021
It has been an absolute honor to play a small part with the SEAL Legacy Foundation and be able to continue giving back to a community that puts so much on the line to protect the freedoms that our Nation holds so dearly. I am so very blessed to now be a part of Trident 1, which graciously gives a large portion of our revenue to support the SEAL Legacy Foundation and, to date, has provided over $500k in financial support. We will continue to provide as well as Trident 1 holds our SEALs who sacrifice so much for our families and us, to the utmost regard. Has your time as a SEAL instructor influenced the way you operate Trident1? Absolutely. The experience I received from instructing and mentoring some of the most capable people on the planet has of course helped give me some solid building blocks for mentoring my Team in the business world now at Trident 1. But if you think about it, SEAL training has about an 80% attrition rate, so most of the students I dealt with did not make it to wear the SEAL Trident (warfare insignia). Most unfortunately quit throughout training. There are so many valuable lessons to learn as well when dealing with people who have fallen short of achieving their goals/dreams, and most, honestly, are devastated beyond how I could describe it. In their eyes, at the time, their whole

world has ended. The experience gained in mentoring those who have failed and need to get back on their feet and move on has honestly probably been on par or even exceeds mentoring those who go on to be SEALs. It’s not that hard to instruct and lead folks who usually perform or exceed the standards. It’s helping those who are falling short or failing that tends to be the greatest challenge but often the most rewarding. What is your proudest professional achievement? Probably leading a Team of about 110 people, including a mix of SEALs, Navy EOD, Army Infantry, and Government Civilians, through an arduous deployment in a very hostile area in Afghanistan in 2014... and making sure everyone came back alive. This was the peak of the campaign when President Obama began pulling forces out of Afghanistan, and the Taliban knew it, so we were attacked pretty much daily throughout the months we were there. I cannot count how many near-death experiences not only I had, but every member of my SEAL Platoon had during that deployment. By the grace of God, we were able to successfully accomplish over 50 very dangerous operations and survived numerous direct combat scenarios, including hitting IEDs and being blown up, ambushed and multiple guys getting shot, being rocketed frequently, etc. Being able to
NEVER FORGET WHERE YOU CAME FROM. Never sacrifice your beliefs, morals, or integrity for anything, and do not forget your family/friends who are partly responsible for molding you into who you are today.”
lead my men to the best of my ability in such a hostile environment and making sure all of them were able to return home safely to their families will by far always be what I’m most thankful and proud of. After a very successful career in the Navy, what inspired you to get two MBAs? I wouldn’t actually call it inspiration. I honestly do not personally put that much esteem into degrees. I mean, rectal thermometers have degrees too, and you know what they do with those. I’ve just always been sort of a perfectionist and overachiever, I guess. Right or wrong, society nowadays gives a lot of weight to educational degrees, especially graduate degrees. So I think it was just one of those checks in the blocks as I was transitioning out of the Teams. I knew having a graduate degree from a reputable institution would make me that much more competitive/valuable outside of the military, so it was a logical first step for me. Luckily, I found a dual MBA program offered through Cornell University and Queen’s University out of Canada, and probably even luckier that they accepted me to attend. I am not going to say I didn’t learn a lot during grad school or meet some lifelong friends who are truly exceptional, but I honestly do not pride myself on my degrees. It was more sort of a logical stepping stone for me that was needed to meet another goal I desired in life, working in and learning about finance/banking. Obviously, I’m blessed to have received an advanced education from two of the best Universities in the world, and I am grateful to have had the experience when I did. I will add, though, those sorts of opportunities don’t just magically appear, especially for a poor country boy from Ohio. It took a lot of preparation, years in advance, a lot of assistance from so many amazing people in my network, and a lot of prayers to even have
the opportunity. That was the hardest part… actually getting the opportunity. Executing is always the easiest part. Do you have any advice for an 18-yearold who wants to become a Navy SEAL? I have mentored dozens of young men over the years throughout their desires to become a SEAL. In full disclosure, only a small handful successfully became SEALs. I think I get introduced to guys who aspire to be SEALs probably every other month, and I will continue to assist how I can. Unfortunately, Hollywood, books, media, video games, etc., have erroneously portrayed the job/life as a SEAL similar to a Super Hero of some sort. The first thing I like to educate them on is the reality of being a SEAL and quelling any misconceptions that most have unfortunately been taught. I am not saying that a career as a Frogman is bad, but it comes with a steep consequence in so many ways, and I always like to ensure young men understand some of the realities. If they still seem like they have that fire in the gut, then I will impart some of the following: Quitting can never be an option. No matter how hard things get or how impossible things seem… to quit can never be one of the options on the table. If it ever is, BUD/S has a unique way of making sure that becomes the number one option. Start swimming as much as possible now. They don’t have to be the best swimmer but have to be competitive and, overall, feel as comfortable as a fish in the water. The ocean is not a forgiving environment, and the Teams are literally the best fighting force in the world when it comes to the maritime environment. They will need to eventually feel absolutely at home in the water, and I cannot explain this any better. SEALs come in all shapes and sizes. Contrary to popular belief, we are all not 6’5” tall
and bulletproof. No need to go bulk up in the gym every day. Working on calisthenics, running often, and building up stamina, as well as developing a solid core will be the best you can do to physically prepare to get you in the door. BUD/S will get you in shape after that. Don’t disregard the academics. It is so competitive nowadays to get picked up for a BUD/S contract. Yes, your package will largely consist of your scores from your physical screening test (consisting of a swim, run, pushups, pullups, and situps), but when your package is identical to so many others across the Nation who are competing for the same contract, your academic marks will be considered and may just be the deciding factor to give you the edge needed. Never forget where you came from. Never sacrifice your beliefs, morals, or integrity for anything, and do not forget your family/ friends who are partly responsible for molding you into who you are today. Pay it back at every chance you get. Servant leadership never goes out of style. As we were wrapping up, I was reflecting on all the things Jake has seen, learned, experienced, and suffered, and was wondering what his outlook was on life. What makes a good day? What about a bad day? I figured he’d seen enough bad days and didn’t need to be asked that, so I settled on the positive. Jake thought for a second or two and replied, “Spending time with my family, my wife and kids, anything I can pour into them to better them. That’s what a good day is.” Thank you, Jake, for your service and continued service for the betterment of America’s SEALs and service people. inflammation-promoting and hormonedisrupting foods like: 1) Refined sugar, 2) Refined oils, 3) Processed foods and 4) Bread, pastries, and other white flour foods. Instead, you’ll want to build most of your meals around foods that fight inflammation, keep your insulin levels in check, and promote balanced hormones. Focus on foods like fresh fruits and veggies, high-quality protein, and healthy fats.
Get Plenty of Sleep Inadequate hours of sleep can disrupt the balance of your sex hormones, send your stress and inflammation through the roof, and spike your insulin resistance. So if you’re on a mission to heal your hormonal acne, getting enough high-quality sleep is essential. Aim to log a minimum of 7 to 8 hours.
Minimize Stress Stress can slowly chip away at your health, creating a overload of stress hormones which will throw your body off kilter over time. Finding ways to minimize stress as well as developing healthy ways to cope with the unavoidable stress of life is essential. Healthy ways to manage stress might include meditation, connecting with loved ones, or blowing off steam in the gym.
Take Skin-Friendly Supplements There are a number of supplements that can help give your body an edge when it comes to addressing all of the underlying issues that can contribute to the hormonal imbalances that can cause hormonal acne. Antioxidants like Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and Glutathione encourage hormone balance and reduce oxidative stress that trigger inflammation in the skin, leading to breakouts and scarring. Gut Healing Probiotics are especially helpful for those with inflammatory skin conditions like acne. Probiotics are ingredients that promote the growth of healthy bacteria in our bodies. True probiotics are live organisms that may be found in fermented foods like
yogurt or high-quality supplements. When taken by mouth, they can help normalize your gut bacteria, improve the microbiome of your digestive tract, and subsequently reduce inflammation throughout the body (including the skin). They can then re-balance the hormone dysfunction that’s causing your hormonal acne. Fish Oil Supplements or introducing more fish can make your skin less prone to spots and breakouts. Not only do the essential fatty acids in Omega 3 fish oil benefit skin by soothing your body’s inflammatory response to excess sebum and bacteria, they can also tackle the root of the problem by helping to regulate acne-causing hormones, such as estrogen, testosterone and androgen.
Invest in Quality Skin Care While it’s crucial to be intentional about what’s going in your body, it’s just as important to pay attention to what’s going on your body. When used in conjunction with some healthy lifestyle tweaks, investing in high-quality topical skincare can go a long way in getting you that glowing, blemish-free complexion. A physician-directed skincare regimen which incorporates key ingredients such as Salicylic Acid, Benzoyl Peroxide, Antioxidants (Vitamin A,C and E) and Oil-free Sun Protection can help to eliminate acne by treating existing blemishes and preventing future breakouts.
Unsettling acne scars are one of the top skin concerns my patients seek for cosmetic correction. To successfully improve and remove scarring, I like to use a 1-2-3 approach. 1. The M22 PhotoFacial is an advanced Intense Pulse Light treatment to correct not only the color changes (reds and browns) that occur with acne scars, but also has a special acne filter to reduce active acne breakouts. The response and results have been received with overwhelming success! 2. The Secret is Out! The Secret-RF MicroNeedling System is a supercharged technology that combines Skin Needling (or micro-needling) and Radiofrequency Energy. Both are well established treatments that are normally performed separately to jumpstart collagen production. The “beauty” of Secret-RF is that offering both in one single treatment provides ultimate results in skin lifting, retexturing and scar correction. Secret-RF has outstanding results for all skin types with very low risk of pigmen tation and side effects, a key difference when compared to laser treatments. 3. My ResurFX Laser offers the most exciting development in Fractional Skin Resurfacing. The fractional lasers break the laser beam into tiny little beams of light which cause less damage and less downtime and allows for a more powerful treatment. It is my GO-TO machine when needing to correct white scars! As well, the very advanced treatment scanner, allows me to choose from more than 600 combinations of shape, size, density and energy strength for a highly customizable treatment to fit each patient’s precise needs. No other laser has this ability!
