SINCE1948, the Tucson Airport Authority, operator of Tucson International Airport, has connected Southern Arizona to communities near and far from the majestic heart of the desert we call home. We are fortunate to live in such a magnificent area, and better yet, we are surrounded by incredibly talented artists. No matter the medium, art of all forms is both created and enjoyed across Tucson — including at the Tucson International Airport (TUS) where diverse art and sculptures adorn the spaces to create a ‘sense of place’ for our passengers, customers, and employees.

While we are well known for the convenience of traveling and exceptional customer service, our airport art program has been recognized and appreciated from across the nation by travelers and the aviation industry. From the colorful cacti along the curbside pickup area to the expanding permanent art collection inside the terminal, art is everywhere at TUS. Local artists vie for space in three rotating galleries that host new exhibits twice each year. This gallery helps our passengers, visitors, and employees feel like they are in the desert southwest.

As the gateway to the region for the millions of travelers who come to Tucson for business, vacation or simply to explore, we are pleased when visitors find that Tucson has a thriving art culture. When these visitors fly TUS, they support an economic engine with an annual impact to the region of over $8.3B, which supports employers, and employees with thousands of quality jobs.

Because of the regions’ support, the Tucson Airport Authority will continue to be a pillar in our community and continue to work with the airlines to bring you the flights you need for work and for pleasure. When your plans call for travel, I encourage you to book your next trip through TUS connecting you to over 400 cities.

I am confident you will enjoy a clean, convenient experience with industry leading hospitality and a robust art program. And, if you have no travel plans in the immediate future, I still invite you to the public terminal areas to enjoy the art galleries and many individual pieces.

When your airport thrives, your community thrives!

Sincerely,

Reimagine Your Best Years

La Posada at Pusch Ridge is more than retirement living, it’s retirement thriving. Imagine waking up in the shadow of the brilliant Catalina Mountains, ready to embrace every day with a community that fuels your mind, body and spirit.

ATC BRINGS A MASTERFUL

BLEND of Suspense, Joy, Music and Heart to its 57th Season

LILLIE LANGSTON, SHULER HENSLEY,

ArizonaTheatre Company (ATC) sets the stage for an unforgettable 57th season, blending classic intrigue, heartwarming tales and musical brilliance. With a lineup that promises to captivate audiences of all tastes, ATC continues its tradition of bringing exceptional theatrical experiences to Arizona.

Dial M For Murder opens the season with a thrill that promises to keep audiences on the edge of their seats, followed by ATC’s holiday spectacular Scrooge!. The season continues with the soulful and evocative musical Blues in the Night and the world premiere of Bob & Jean: A Love Story. Finally, Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson—Apt. 2B closes the season with a hilarious new twist on two of the world’s most iconic characters.

Frederick Knott’s Dial M for Murder (9/22/2024 - 10/12/2024) is a classic tale of deception and murder that follows the cunning Tony Wendice, who plots to kill his wife for her money. However, his meticulously planned scheme unravels in ways he never anticipated. This adaptation by Jeffrey Hatcher ensures a fresh yet faithful rendition of the suspenseful narrative, drawing audiences into a web of intrigue and mystery.

ATC’s very own Scrooge! (11/3/2024 - 11/30/24) returns for the holidays to tell the timeless tale of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol infused with music by Leslie Bricusse. This musical adaptation brings the beloved story to life with joyous music and spirit. As Scrooge journeys from miser to merrymaker, audiences will be enchanted by the memorable melodies and heartfelt message of redemption and generosity. It’s a festive production perfect for all ages that promises to warm hearts and spread holiday cheer.

ATC kicks off 2025 with Sheldon Epps’ Blues in the Night (1/26/2025 - 2/15/2025). Set to take the audience on an evocative journey, this musical

revue follows the stories of three women in a rundown Chicago hotel in the 1930s who share their joys and sorrows through powerful blues numbers. This poignant tribute to the resilience and passion that defines the blues genre includes songs made famous by Bessie Smith, Ida Cox, Duke Ellington and more.

Next up, ATC brings Bob & Jean: A Love Story (3/23/2025 - 4/12/2025) to life for the first time in its world premiere. Based on the truelife events of playwright Robert Schenkkan’s parents, this touching narrative follows the enduring relationship between Bob and Jean as World War II and their careers drive them thousands of miles apart.

Closing the season with a contemporary twist on classic detective tales, Ms. Holmes & Ms. Watson—Apt. 2B (5/18/2025 - 6/7/2025) reimagines Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson as modern-day women. This fresh take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic characters by Kate Hamill brings humor, wit and a renewed sense of mystery to the stage. As Ms. Holmes and Ms. Watson encounter the always cunning and quick Moriarty and navigate the complexities of solving crimes in today’s world, audiences can expect sharp dialogue, clever mysteries and a dynamic duo that redefines the classic partnership.

As Arizona’s State Theatre, ATC brings the best theatre talent in the country to create shows in Arizona just for Arizonans. Each production offers a unique experience — from classic mysteries to heartfelt love stories — as ATC continues its legacy of delivering top-notch theatre that entertains, inspires and delights audiences of all kinds. GREAT LITERATURE. INTIMATE SETTING. CHALLENGING IDEAS.

Twenty years ago, The Rogue Theatre began in a parking lot.

In 2004, Joe McGrath and Cynthia Meier were rehearsing scenes together over several months to stay in shape for their acting careers. One night, as they walked to their cars, Joe said, “You know, if we’re going to keep doing this, we should get some other people involved.”

For the next two decades, Joe and Cindy, CoFounders, gathered the best talent in town to create one of Tucson’s finest small professional theaters. You see, they wanted to spend the rest of their lives with the world’s greatest authors. They wanted to produce theater that was beautiful and profound. And they wanted to find a group of people, an audience, who longed to share challenging and meaningful stories about the human experience.

Please join in celebrating the 20th Anniversary of The Rogue Theatre!

The Rogue Theatre is an intimate 170-seat small professional theatre in The Historic Y, with an

“Stunning. Stellar. Breathtaking.” - M.L., Audience Member

adjacent parking lot. The Rogue employs Tucson actors, directors and designers in a five-play season, with post-show discussions after every performance. The Rogue is a recipient of the American Theatre Wing National Theatre Award and has been recognized by the Shubert Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Tickets are now available for The Rogue’s 20th Anniversary Season: Thornton Wilder’s funny and profound The Skin of Our Teeth, a new adaptation of Italo Calvino’s masterpiece If On a Winter’s Night a Traveler, John Millington Synge’s comic Irish play, The Playboy of the Western World, an engrossing exploration of Artificial Intelligence by Jordan Harrison, Marjorie Prime and Shakespeare’s celebration of love, Romeo and Juliet.

The Classic series consists of eight concerts performed at the Linda Ronstadt Music Hall, held on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. The series features two seminal works: Beethoven’s Fifth (Nov. 15 & 17, 2024) and Carmina Burana (April 4 & 6, 2025). It also includes the chance to

discover David Fray performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21 on Mozart and Tchaikovsky (Sept. 27 & 29, 2024), TSO percussionists Trevor Barroero and Fred Morgan soloing on Laura Vega’s Angel de Luz percussion concerto on Elgar’s Enigma Variations (Oct. 18 & 20, 2024), Artist in Residence Tommy Mesa performing two cello concertos on Haydn and Brahms (Dec. 13 & 15, 2024), worldrenowned mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke returning to perform with the TSO on Mahler’s Third (Jan. 24 & 26, 2025), Paul Huang’s return on Dvořák’s Violin Concerto on Dvořák and the American Experience (Feb. 21 & 23, 2025) and Gabriela Martinez performing Chopin on Chopin and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet (March 14 & 16, 2025).

Looking for a smaller experience? The Masterworks Series is five concerts at Catalina Foothills High School, all featuring three performances: Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. From Lauren Roth performing Beethoven’s iconic violin concerto on Lauren Roth Plays Beethoven (Oct. 5 & 6, 2024) to the classic Peter and the Wolf (March 8 & 9, 2025), with stops along the way to feature Kerson Leong on Mendelssohn and Korngold (Nov. 9 & 10, 2024), discover Tan Dun’s guzheng concerto on French Impressions (Jan. 11 & 12, 2025) and experience Sasha Cooke on Mahler and Schumann (Feb. 1 & 2, 2025), it’s five not-to-be-missed programs.

Special events add the extra spice to the season. The Three Mexican Tenors (Nov. 23 & 24, 2024) bring classic and pop hits to the TSO stage, while Frozen in Concert (Dec. 7 & 8, 2024) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens Live in Concert (May 17 & 18, 2025) offer the chance to see the film projected live while the TSO plays the full score. The greatest hits of sci-fi movies and TV on Symphonic Sci-Fi (Feb. 15 & 16, 2025) and the classic tunes of ABBA on Arrival from Sweden: The Music of ABBA (March 22 & 23, 2025) round out the series.

The season also includes the Up Close chamber music series, and the free Just for Kids concerts!

LOUIS CARLOS BERNAL: RETROSPECTIVA

celebrates the pioneering Chicano photographer’s legacy.

"My images convey the spiritual and cultural values of the Chicano experience.”
— Louis Carlos Bernal

The Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona presents Louis Carlos Bernal: Retrospectiva, a landmark survey of one of the most significant American photographers of the twentieth century, from Sept. 14, 2024–March 15, 2025.

Best known for his intimate portrayals of barrio communities of the Southwest United States, Louis Carlos Bernal (1941–1993) made photographs in the late 1970s and 1980s that draw upon the resonance of Catholicism, Indigenous beliefs and popular practices tied to the land.

Featuring over 140 original photographs and archival objects from the Center’s collection, the exhibition also includes examples of Bernal’s early experimental work, photographs from his trips to Mexico, the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and a selection of never-seen images he produced in Cuba.
