regulations regulations regulations Anyone leaving Damascus (mile 49.4) after 4pm will be REQUIRED to have a jacket with them. The weather at Whitetop can be unpredictable, and it is strongly recommended that you have a hat, gloves, & space blanket as well. Many seasoned runners have experienced hypothermia heading back up to Whitetop! DO NOT CHALLENGE THE COLD!! This is a CUPLESS race. You must carry your own cup. Aid stations will not have them. You cannot take aid from a moving bike or vehicle. You may pick up a pacer your second time through Alvarado Station (mile 42). Your pacer must be running. They cannot be on a bike. NO MULING - you must carry all of your own supplies and water in between crew locations & aid stations.
You may not enter a vehicle at any point during the race. You may not leave the course.
You may not store any supplies along the trail. Littering of any kind is prohibited.
Runners are responsible for the actions of their crew & pacers.
The Yeti 100 has a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for any performance enhancing drugs. If you’re unsure if any medication you take violates these rules, please check USADA — www.usada.org
& more...
Any runner who is unable to compete must inform the nearest aid station PERSONALLY that they are dropping from the race. Your safety is the number 1 priority. We will do our best to get you back to Damascus, but be prepared to wait for transportation from the aid station — cell service is intermittent in some areas. At Alvarado Station, you will need to wait until there is a driver at the aid station. Dropping at the 50 mile mark WILL NOT count as a 50 mile finish. It will be a DNF for the 100. You can finish this race!! Runner’s crews must be respectful of private property when parking, hanging out, waiting, and general crewing. The course is not closed. It’s open for public use, so please share the trail with bicycles and other pedestrians trying to enjoy the beauty of the Creeper Trail.
Do your best to stay safe at all times, & do not put anyone else in unsafe situations. There are numerous hazards in trail races, many of which could be fatal in extreme circumstances. Make sure you have trained adequately, know the race details, pay attention to all race communications including pre-race emails and briefings, be honest with yourself about your limitations and abilities, & do not impair your health, senses, or judgment before or during the race. Try to be understanding and kind to everyone. Runners, volunteers, other trail users, & race staff. Most times this is not a problem, but some instances where this comes up are when folks don’t sign up on time, are unhappy with or unaware of one of our race policies, not making cutoff times... please try to put yourself in others’ shoes. Wait until you are calm to communicate. Make sure you are informed and prepared by reading all the regulations and race details. If our policies and rules don’t work for you, please choose to run elsewhere. HAVE FUN! This your day, & you’ve worked hard to get to the starting line. Take a moment, breathe it in!!!!
THANK
YOU!!!!
If you’re a top placer, you can get a handsome winner’s buckle :)
“
This is a great race for anyone wanting to tackle the 100 mile distance... I did not want to cross any technical trail or river crossings. I wanted only to focus on the miles, not fight the elevation.
“
Jazz existed, and still exists. Writers have always existed. Feet. Have you thanked yourself lately?
