WHATS INVOLVED? There are a couple of stages involved in joining the event. The first is signing up via our website. We generally ask that each location be open for one whole day during the event, and that you supply some information to help us organize the event, website and printed event guide. We do not charge you to participate in the event, and encourage you to promote your involvement along the way. Please be aware that we are not able to cover any running costs associated with being open as part of Open House Perth. Once you have signed up we will provide you with contact to our Volunteer Coordination group. Each project has a group manager from the Volunteer Coordination group who is experienced in coordinating and opening projects during the event. We also try to appoint a Building Manager to each site.

Between these two contacts we will work with you to develop a building management plan that suits your property during the course of the weekend. This includes: • identifying the tour type – open/ guided/ by booking • Tour group size • How many volunteers are required • Are there areas need to be closed off during the weekend? • Etc. We recommend most properties have open or guided tours. If the number of people access the house at any one time is an issue we can certainly limit entry numbers. Open House Perth carries a number of insurances that cover things like Public Liability and Volunteer safety.
