Thank you to our clients who took part in our recent online survey. It was really helpful and we’ve had some fantastic feedback (see below). We’ve learnt that you feel ‘interpretation of the brief’ and ‘communication’ to be of particular importance and 25% of our team has now started specific project management training to support best delivery. I hope you enjoy reading about some of the schemes that we’ve worked on lately. As always, it’s great to hear from you, so please feel free to add your comments about Tower Surveys to our survey. Regards, James Hulme (Managing Director)

Bridge condition surveys - Improving efficiency for AMCO The benefits of Tower Surveys’ delivery using laser scanning on this AMCO scheme, include: • Efficiency: Scanning technology (Leica P20 scanner) enabled a 14 span arch viaduct in Edinburgh, to be surveyed in less than a day. • Accessibility: 3D imagery made available for the client to view online. • Future benefits: The laser scanner works at 360 degrees, enabling additional data to be retrieved, as needed and preventing the need for further site surveys.

CCTV Surveys Our CCTV services continue to be in demand, with our robotic CCTV camera units providing information on the condition and characteristics of drain runs, highlighting damage, such as root ingress, cracks and incoming connections. More information is available on our website at this link. To view footage from a survey of a main sewer of a hospital in Leeds, click here or on the thumbnail on the right.

Assisting the RNLI with new lifeboat stations Tower Surveys provided surveying services to the Royal National Lifeboat Institution to create two new lifeboat stations in North Wales, as well as two stations on the Isle of Man.

Tower Surveys did an excellent job on the RNLI schemes and worked particularly efficiently onsite. In Wales, there was a huge amount of effort to trace the known services, despite the extreme obscurity of some. I was impressed with the clarity of their drawings, with annotations indicating the services which had traced, as well as those that couldn’t be located. Developing our people Surveyor, Graham Walker (far right photo), currently seconded to work for Tower Survey’s sister company (Opus) in Australia is surveying some extremely remote areas of the Northern Territory. Working for the Department of Infrastructure, the surveying work is assisting the National Partnership Agreement on Remote Indigenous Housing (NPARIH) programme.

A 4 hour drive would get you anywhere in the UK from my office in Nottingham, but here a trip to site often involves several flights from my base in Adelaide.
