SCRIPT : I remember walking the streets, in Europe, Asia or South America, and being touched by human scale hand-writings ; hand written boards, façade fully covered with signs, A4 home made photocopies, finger traces in the snow, all of them were some kinds of anonymous scriptures. Those are not grafiti or art expression, they are shop signs.
The mess of these advertisements, or the un-clean-ness of it, were to grab my attention. More than a proper commercial. Suddenly, other stores happened to be clean “concept driven places”, designed and builded up from scratch, “true-history-less” spaces. On the contrary, these hand written signs were bringing back the life of real people. Those were traces of workers. Workers are authors of their work again.
When signature becomes autonomous branding.
